Hate Against Kids (Rant)
Hello I am a [u]13 year old[/u] gamer and I play [b]Destiny[/b]. When I join someone or go on [b]raids [/b]I am Called "[i]Squeaker[/i]".
I am apparently someone to laugh at and abuse for being [u]2 years[/u] younger then another person. About 1 in 15 people are nice and don't care. When I need help with a Raid I invite people and ask people for help, then I am abused because I am [u]13 [/u]and have a voice that is kind of high.
I play with[u] 6-9 year old's[/u] if they need help... most other people just bully them and ruin the experience of Communication on this awesome [b]MMO[/b]. I love [b]Destiny [/b]it is fascinating and enjoyable... but about [b]70%[/b] of the community are bullies towards "Little Kids". If you don't want to play with someone because they have a voice that you absolutely can't stand, don't be a Bully just say "Sorry I really don't want to do this... I want to do other things" as appose to hurting feelings and being a dick.
You were a kid once whats wrong with it?
If they are screaming in the microphone and being really Annoying then give them a chance tell them your gonna kick them if they keep going, then if they keep going don't retaliate just be chill and say "Hey you had your warning... sorry your being kicked".
The thread is about people being bullies after they say a few words in a high voice. Also if they try to be funny don't laugh and say that wasn't really that funny try something else. About 4 years ago I got Xbox with COD and I did these things to so I can understand why people gave them this reputation. I feel it should be changed a little bit. Fighting fire with fire never works out it's just a waste of time.
If this is changed I would think [b]Destiny [/b]would be more inviting and people under [u]14 [/u] would enjoy it a lot more!
Also shut up about ratings. Look at the movies people sneak in all the time your not gonna stop anything.
In Australia you are allowed to play it so you can't say crap about kids from Aussie. Think of something without involving ratings or do you need to rely on them?

1 ReplyI'm 14 but my voice is pretty damn low so nobody cares. As long as you 1.) are not annoying 2.) are mature 3.) know what you're doing you should be fine.

Most (but not all) younger players tend to talk WAY TOO MUCH, are easily distracted or just don't listen when given instructions (mostly in raids). But I've ran across some really cool youngsters. It's very rare that I do though. As far as voices go, its not a problem for me unless everything I said before about them applies. Then it starts to become a headache.

This all depends on the person. Just like adults. I have raided with kids that were good and kids that were bad. The biggest issue I have personally seen regardless of age is people not listening and talking nonstop. My clan raids with my son and I and he does just fine. He wears a headset and listens to everyone and sometimes will talk. But honestly if he never spoke you wouldn't know he was a kid by the way he plays. When he does strike playlists I don't allow him to use a mic solely for the people who would be rude to him. Is he the best player? Sometimes. Is he the worst player? Sometimes. But he is always trying to help and knows how the fights go.

I don't mind younger gamers. I will let them in my raids back when I played often. But the classification of squeaker to me are the insanely immature kids that actually scream. I play games with my younger cousins and they have higher voices and if a friend of mine joins and talks trash I will instantly defend them. The reason I actually enjoy playing with him is that he is mature enough to not scream a question constantly since they didn't get an immediate answer. To me a squeaker is not just the voice. Its the way they act. Give them a chance. They could add a bit more excitement with a random idea they get

Joined a VOG raid with 3 young ones (guessing around 7-11) and someone explained how to do the Templar. After the explanation the kid goes "so what're we doing?". Next guy says the same explanation, same kid says "what are we doing?". Finally I explain again, stay at the top, friend takes relic, and they say okay. So we start and one kid jumps down with the relic holder to kill the mobs at the bottom, and the same kid asks what we are doing. Another falls off the edge for unknown reasons, then asks if we can run his lvl 26 friend through hard mode Atheon. It isn't the voice that bothers me, it's their ability to listen and work as a team. [spoiler]I know not all kids are like that, but I'd rather not waste my time. [/spoiler]

My Problem is that a lot of kids (especially from the UK) just talk all over each other, think they know everything and it gets annoying, I will literally help anyone on anything in Destiny..no longer how long it takes but please be cooperative, makes life easier...if you do need help with anything regardless of your age on Destiny I'm on Xbox One, Gamertag is DinkDza p.s expect to laugh a lot!

I helped a kid through an Omnigul strike and it was the first time he ever beat her because others quit out on him all the time...that was actually kind of cool when he was super excited that he beat her.

Two things. a.) Destiny is no MMO.. sry b.) the best swordrunner i know is a squeaker. and i mean BY FAR THE BEST okay another thing: c.) i play with whoever gets the shit done.. and i will leave squeaker or grown up groups as soon as they show clear signs of not being able to do the job..

Hey its OK kid I'm 13 with a relitively high voice , but if you act mature and listen I'm willing to bet people will play with you. That's how I became one of the leaders in my clan that mostly consists of 20+. If that doesn't work well your voice will get deep enough soon enough.

Simply put i ask my kids how school is and play on the xbox to screw around. I don't need to get away from my kids just to play with others. Squeakers need to go outside get some sun and lay some girls. I am not going to enable or accept a kid that plays nothing but video games. I did football,track swim team and BMX in school. MMA in my late teens and early 20s before i had kids. Kids need to GTFO and live their life. Parents are the biggest enablers alive. Although i can understand an hour here or an hour there when the weather is absolute shit. Any parent who allow their kids to put up with a mouth like mine needs to have DCFS called on them. Edit... For those who say I have a shit job or make relatively little money my current occupation is a mechanical engineer. I also have minors in computer science and network engineering

8 RepliesHey kid, ive been in your shoes before. The world os a cruel, unfair, unjust place where douchebags rule and the greedy prosper. I feel your pain as i was a late bloomer myself and was constantly picked on in school and online for my size and voice depthness relative to my age. All i can say is dont let them get to ya cause there are other kids out there like you that are willing to reach out and help out. Even adults like myself who can relate and will go out of their way to make someones day a little brighter. Im play on the ps4 and id be more than glad to help you out where you need it if you like. Keep your chin up little light. :)

Don't take it personally.... I don't like people in general, regardless of age. Also, 6-9 year olds shouldn't be playing online games anyway, the parents are pretty naive if they think they're aren't going to hear things they shouldn't......Destiny is a 16 in the UK (I'm not saying you need to be THAT old, but not 8 years off).

I had a few joining when we filled are group with randoms from lfg. Our groups ages are mid 20's and early 30's, and we really prefer not to listen to kids voices. Wouldn't just kick them or bully them though. Unless they're the hyperactive always talking kind of people, can't stand those. Usually just finish the raid, but not add them on friendlist.

It doesn't really bother me but if I'm doun a night with two little kids and I have like 160 kills and both of them have like 20 then that's a problem

It's funny that a lot of people have a problem with playing with kids. I've never had any issues with them. Personally, I've played with more grown ass men who were just terrible people. Nothing but vitriol and ignorance out of their mouths for entire raids.

The vast majority of internet community forum users and gamers for MMO/FPS type games are immature regardless of their age, inconsiderate, uncaring, high horse, over entitled and just plain rude. I usually just take my chances on LFG and if there are problem players I generally just mute them.

I'm not able to play with younger people, they annoy me. It seems to me they find everything funny, from dying to pointing at Crota. Sqeakers just seem like prepubescent stoners really. They make no sense half the time and everything is a joke to them.
