Hello I am a 13 year old gamer and I play Destiny. When I join someone or go on raids I am Called "Squeaker".
I am apparently someone to laugh at and abuse for being 2 years younger then another person. About 1 in 15 people are nice and don't care. When I need help with a Raid I invite people and ask people for help, then I am abused because I am 13 and have a voice that is kind of high.
I play with 6-9 year old's if they need help... most other people just bully them and ruin the experience of Communication on this awesome MMO. I love Destiny it is fascinating and enjoyable... but about 70% of the community are bullies towards "Little Kids". If you don't want to play with someone because they have a voice that you absolutely can't stand, don't be a Bully just say "Sorry I really don't want to do this... I want to do other things" as appose to hurting feelings and being a dick.
You were a kid once whats wrong with it?
If they are screaming in the microphone and being really Annoying then give them a chance tell them your gonna kick them if they keep going, then if they keep going don't retaliate just be chill and say "Hey you had your warning... sorry your being kicked".
The thread is about people being bullies after they say a few words in a high voice. Also if they try to be funny don't laugh and say that wasn't really that funny try something else. About 4 years ago I got Xbox with COD and I did these things to so I can understand why people gave them this reputation. I feel it should be changed a little bit. Fighting fire with fire never works out it's just a waste of time.
If this is changed I would think Destiny would be more inviting and people under 14 would enjoy it a lot more!
Also shut up about ratings. Look at the movies people sneak in all the time your not gonna stop anything.
In Australia you are allowed to play it so you can't say crap about kids from Aussie. Think of something without involving ratings or do you need to rely on them?
Australia has different spelling and grammar and I am 13 get off my case.
It's rated T in America. I DGAF if you're 13.
-
The games rated 16 in uk. Meaning little children like you shouldnt be playing it. Its 16 for a reason and I dont expect to be playing with youngers under 16.
-
I'm 13 too and I've never been called a squeaker, I don't talk much though, but when I do I'm still not called one. And I'm Australian too :D

Edited by MissFortune 21: 3/10/2015 11:26:46 AMWell considering the rating on this game you are too young to play it really. Personally I prefer to play with people that are at least over 20ish. Or that are calm and mature.
-
On PS3 there is an option to make your voice higher or lower but I am 13 and I don't need to use it and have never once been called a squeaker but maybe whatever console your on is more hostile towards kids than play
-
I've been playing with this one guy (well kid) for a year. He sounds like he's in his twenty's but I recently discovered that he's only 12. It honestly shocked me cause he was so mature and his voice sounded so deep. So not all kids are bad, just gotta meet the right ones. It's also funny cause I play with another guy who my age (17) and his voice is a lot lighter than the twelve year old I play with. But I do hate ten year old squeakers.
-
Folks may snicker a bit (myself included), but the ones that dwell on it are just jerkbags. Pay them no mind.
-
If you aren't an annoying twat, aren't incessantly yelling, and aren't telling me how to do something I already know what to do, you're fine.
-
If you scream or if you yell it was a glitch every time you die instant kick. Other then I don't care. I meet some quiet cool kids before so I don't really mind.
-
You're voice will break soon, I don't get called a squeaker and I'm 14 cause my voice just broke. Ps I'm from straya too.
-
By the magnitude of your rant I can tell it effects you too much. I was 9 when I started playing Xbox Live but I was mature for my age and just dealt with the idiots who made fun of my high voice
-
Sorry to break it to you but the next 10 years of your life are going to be chaotic. you will have all kinds of ups and downs trying to figure out where you fit in life. most of us over 21 like playing with other people over 21 simply because we went through what you're going through and don't want to re-visit it again again.
-
Well, by the looks of the structure and verbage you used in your post, I don't believe that you are only 13. I will play along though. I don't mind helping kids out. What I do mind it's the ones that get so worked up and just blabber the entire time and make no sense. The only reason people attempt the raids are to gain better gear/weapons and finish the thing. No one can concentrate with a constant "squeaker" going of in the background. If you are a mature "squeaker", then message me your gamer tag if your on PS3 or PS4. I will gladly run a raid with you. If you can't stay focused, then I will get rid of you. I do the same thing with the rest of us croakers.
-
You're a squeeker yourself what are you complaining about
-
The only thing meaner than the Internet is the real world. Sorry your feelings are hurt by us jaded and mostly likely sarcastic gamers infused with blue humor, vulgarities, and insults. It's called "ball breaking". Just return the fire. Online interactions cannot be rated.

Another COD brat,poor gaming industry.
-
Whilst it's not right to bully why are you even allowed to randomly speak and add people to your party your 13!!!

I've had some good experiences with kids in this game...and bad. Once I got an invite at the tower to join a fire team. I thought, "why not?" Turn out to be some youth trying to do a Nightfall. They were getting slaughtered from the get go. I put on my mic, invited them to team chat and walked them through it. They were both very respectful and appreciative of the help. Think I even friended one of them. One of the first times I did Crota, the fire team leader was just a kid. He walked me through it. Very helpful. Other times, I've had horrible experiences. They'd turn one me, get in the way, throw up a bubble in a door way when I was sniping boomers. Cussing and swearing. Particularly when I would stand right next to smolder corpse and not revive them because they kept running out the door over and over again after I told them not to. Of course, I've played with "adults" that were a bunch of a@"$&@:/ as well. The biggest thing for me is that there is an age rating on the game, and so many parents disregard it. If the parents respected the "rules" then maybe their kids would learn to...respect.
-
Are you even old enough to play this game it's a 16 rated in the UK so I don't want to be playing with anyone who is younger than 16 I think that's fair enough
-
I was at the End of Crota, looking out of the window at Crota waiting for him to go back to the middle. All the while, 3 squeakers kept on repeating and doing the movement: "Point at Crota, Wave at Crota, Point at Crota, Wave at Crota, Point at Crota, Wave at Crota, Point at Crota, Wave at Crota, Point at Crota, Wave at Crota" I left the game.
-
"Squeaker" is a term that is used for a little kid that gets a-hold of the mic and talks extremely loud, or has the mic in his/her mouth. Squeaking. Squealer. etc. :P But if a kid is talking casually, (as I would picture OP doing) I'd see no reason not to play with them?
-
I only get upset if the younger player is the stereotypical "I'm better than you and I banged your mum" squeaker. If you act mature/your age I could care less what your voice sounds like. If you need help I'll help you but if you're being annoying on purpose you're gonna get kicked. If people are kicking for no reason other than a slightly higher pitched voice, that's not cool.
I said "slightly" because at 13 your voice (or at least mine) was staring to deepen.
-
Yeah i personally dont like playing with them and havent been in a group with a good squeaker. I had a crota hard mode raid last week at the boss checkpoint and this kid just kept singing peanut butter jelly time over and over then he ran the sword died like 3 times and goes not bad for my first time using sword on hard then kept singing.
-
I don't see and different spelling or grammar. o.o
-
I was 13 once I sniffed glue just like you little one....sadly I didn't get on forums and ask for people to be nice to me because I was likable I kept to myself and didnt bother saying useless things on mic to annoy people I made call outs and I didnt try to take the reins unless told to. Moral of this story is if you wanna play with the big boys you gotta act like one.

Some just dont shut the hell up.
