Hate Against Kids (Rant)
Hello I am a [u]13 year old[/u] gamer and I play [b]Destiny[/b]. When I join someone or go on [b]raids [/b]I am Called "[i]Squeaker[/i]".
I am apparently someone to laugh at and abuse for being [u]2 years[/u] younger then another person. About 1 in 15 people are nice and don't care. When I need help with a Raid I invite people and ask people for help, then I am abused because I am [u]13 [/u]and have a voice that is kind of high.
I play with[u] 6-9 year old's[/u] if they need help... most other people just bully them and ruin the experience of Communication on this awesome [b]MMO[/b]. I love [b]Destiny [/b]it is fascinating and enjoyable... but about [b]70%[/b] of the community are bullies towards "Little Kids". If you don't want to play with someone because they have a voice that you absolutely can't stand, don't be a Bully just say "Sorry I really don't want to do this... I want to do other things" as appose to hurting feelings and being a dick.
You were a kid once whats wrong with it?
If they are screaming in the microphone and being really Annoying then give them a chance tell them your gonna kick them if they keep going, then if they keep going don't retaliate just be chill and say "Hey you had your warning... sorry your being kicked".
The thread is about people being bullies after they say a few words in a high voice. Also if they try to be funny don't laugh and say that wasn't really that funny try something else. About 4 years ago I got Xbox with COD and I did these things to so I can understand why people gave them this reputation. I feel it should be changed a little bit. Fighting fire with fire never works out it's just a waste of time.
If this is changed I would think [b]Destiny [/b]would be more inviting and people under [u]14 [/u] would enjoy it a lot more!
Also shut up about ratings. Look at the movies people sneak in all the time your not gonna stop anything.
In Australia you are allowed to play it so you can't say crap about kids from Aussie. Think of something without involving ratings or do you need to rely on them?

And by that I mean if you're annoying, be you 9, 19 or 90, I [i]will[/i] treat you with less respect than someone who is being a helpful teammate no matter if they are 9, 19 or 90. Tl;Dr don't be annoying. If you're not I don't care how old you are.

I wish you the best of luck in you're endeavour. It's a total waste of time because 90% of squeakers are why the hate happens and screws over the 10% that are just like most gamers. And also, 90% of the non squeakers forget they were once in your shoes and seem to forget what it was like. Just let it slide off your back bud

1 ReplyI am 12 and people I play with are nice, most of the time. Sometimes they say," ok so everyone know what to do?" Yes, I do. " oh wait the squeaker needs to be carried and needs help someone explain it to him, he's not worth the time of day for me" I ended up soloing the abyss bridge and deathsinger and they say I needed to be carried. They said on the first wipe on Crota when the SWORDBEARER died before he even picked up the sword that squeaker isn't shooting crota, kick him. I said you don't have to and left.

My only problem is they tend to no go with the plan and kinda screw things up but if they went horrible I could care less about their voice

I have ran into a lot more adults who rage and are un bearable to play with in destiny. COD its a different story but in destiny I haven't had any bad experiences with squeakers yet

I play with my 12 years old nefeu,and he's better, learns faster and is more respectful than most ''adults'' I've met online.Stupidity has no age requirement you just are ,regardless of age.

lol I did a couple raids with a 9 year old. He listened and everything went smoothly. It's the cocky pricks who don't listen you have to watch for. And they come in all ages and sizes.

1 ReplyThis happened 30 minutes ago... I joined a party from a person on the forums needing help with VOG. As I join I say "Hello? So you wanted to do VOG Fresh?" they said "Hahaha dumb little squeaker, are you 5?" I said "Pardon?" to be abused with words like "Shut your Flucking mouth" and "You stole your Mama's credit card to get this game? Bad Baby" Then I leaved and they followed me to my next Party because I added one of them. I got abused again, so I removed him and left.

Edited by juicehead2004: 3/10/2015 1:10:37 AMI've played with a squeaker the other day..14 yr old kid, we were doin hard crota and were at crota when he jumped in ...I thought oh great here we go and right away he started in obnoxious and loud and non stop talking but he was really funny, could dish it out and take it and the kid could play so I had no issue with him at all...he was actually really amusing and was a good player and knew his role well so I was cool with keeping him around...just goes to show u that not all squeakers r bad, maybe give some a chance and if they blow it.,,, then kick them as far as u can..lol Good luck kid and don't stop playing, don't let anyone else ruin ur experience just keep trying til u find some decent guys to play with

6 RepliesI've got a couple of 'Squeaker' friends who I do dailies with regularly. One of them is the best PvP player I have seen in a very long time and a great addition to any fireteam. He doesn't squeak either.lol. Another one is constantly chattering but his skill compensates for that. I'm trying to get my kids into destiny, as my wife and I play it all the time. I really hope they don't get bullied on there. If they do, the bullies have gotta answer to me.

Their is a difference between a kid and a squeaker. A squeaker is an annoying, ass biter shit that screams at you and generally makes it very difficult to play with or is a kid that will nag you for hours (has happened to me before) even though you have tried to be polite and tell them no because you are doing something else. Generally a person with no respect for other people. I think it gets aimed at kids more often because they are the largest demographic that exhibits this trait. But I have met plenty of grown men that act this same way. I'm sorry that their are people in this world that are prejudice to you because of your voice. Things will get better, just keep on keeping on.

I just ran vog with a group of "squeakers". Those kids knew their stuff and because of that I didn't care that they didn't shut up.

I have done many a raid, and in all my time, helping people through, just being straight up kind, you wouldn't believe the number of 16+ argumentative dipshits I encounter. Honestly, I've been in raids where a young child has joined (I'm 16 by the way), and some random group I found on an LFG site will start verbally abusing them. It's freakin' disgusting, and it's a shame that the often ignored 'report' button is the only responsible in-game thing you can do about it. Look...its not your age usually, its that a "squeaker" usually just will not shut up for more than two seconds..... Regardless of your voice or age....no one wants to hear endless nonsense chatter.........and this is even worse with the high pitched annoying voice.......... My advice...if you are tired of being kicked, or called a "squeaker"......just shut the hell up.

I'm more forgiving in Destiny being rated T and all. But if some little kid is on an M rated game and shrieking obscenities over the mic then you have no place there. If you act the age that is printed on the box I could care less what your voice sounds like, its the sentences you form that matters.

I find this sad. I have played with a 9 year old boy who needed help with the very first mission. I am 54 and the lady who helped too is 42. We did not laugh at him for being a kid. As to your voice - hey it will change anyway and you can get all the revenge you want on them in Crucible if you do that. I am mostly PvE. Have your parents screen the people you play with and look for clans that won't discriminate or make your own. I was bullied as a kid living in a ghetto in Brooklyn, NY and fully understand how it feels. Thankfully you only get called names - I got that and beatings to go with it until I was able to give it back. The teens that do this are just immature. Don't let it get you down. My bet is that (again with your parents permission) you can play with more mature people who won't mind your voice one bit. If you were PS4 I would invite you to join us but alas - your Xbox.
