Hello I am a 13 year old gamer and I play Destiny. When I join someone or go on raids I am Called "Squeaker".
I am apparently someone to laugh at and abuse for being 2 years younger then another person. About 1 in 15 people are nice and don't care. When I need help with a Raid I invite people and ask people for help, then I am abused because I am 13 and have a voice that is kind of high.
I play with 6-9 year old's if they need help... most other people just bully them and ruin the experience of Communication on this awesome MMO. I love Destiny it is fascinating and enjoyable... but about 70% of the community are bullies towards "Little Kids". If you don't want to play with someone because they have a voice that you absolutely can't stand, don't be a Bully just say "Sorry I really don't want to do this... I want to do other things" as appose to hurting feelings and being a dick.
You were a kid once whats wrong with it?
If they are screaming in the microphone and being really Annoying then give them a chance tell them your gonna kick them if they keep going, then if they keep going don't retaliate just be chill and say "Hey you had your warning... sorry your being kicked".
The thread is about people being bullies after they say a few words in a high voice. Also if they try to be funny don't laugh and say that wasn't really that funny try something else. About 4 years ago I got Xbox with COD and I did these things to so I can understand why people gave them this reputation. I feel it should be changed a little bit. Fighting fire with fire never works out it's just a waste of time.
If this is changed I would think Destiny would be more inviting and people under 14 would enjoy it a lot more!
Also shut up about ratings. Look at the movies people sneak in all the time your not gonna stop anything.
In Australia you are allowed to play it so you can't say crap about kids from Aussie. Think of something without involving ratings or do you need to rely on them?
Australia has different spelling and grammar and I am 13 get off my case.
I find this sad. I have played with a 9 year old boy who needed help with the very first mission. I am 54 and the lady who helped too is 42. We did not laugh at him for being a kid. As to your voice - hey it will change anyway and you can get all the revenge you want on them in Crucible if you do that. I am mostly PvE. Have your parents screen the people you play with and look for clans that won't discriminate or make your own. I was bullied as a kid living in a ghetto in Brooklyn, NY and fully understand how it feels. Thankfully you only get called names - I got that and beatings to go with it until I was able to give it back. The teens that do this are just immature. Don't let it get you down. My bet is that (again with your parents permission) you can play with more mature people who won't mind your voice one bit. If you were PS4 I would invite you to join us but alas - your Xbox.

I hate people who call me squeaker for being a 10 year old, and I'm not even have a high pitched voice! Wtf?!?
-
As long as a kid is willing to listen, not talk constantly or over everyone, and doesn't come in acting like they're gods gift to the universe my group will let them stay. If we have to warn more than twice about behavior they're gone.
-
You could be 2 months old for all I care- if aren't an asshole, I'll play with you.
-
I'm 13 and have never been kicked from a raid because of my age, as long as you don't suck and your not annoying people usually don't care how old you are...
-
The thing is the other little kids that boast about being a 32 or have Ghorn ruin it for the rest of you. You guys are your own giant community and when a vast majority of you fit into the stereotype of being a squeaker then obviously you're going to get bullied. My advise is to be straight forward with whoever your playing with and tell them that you're not a squeaker and just trying to do the raid or do this strike. If they don't respect that -blam!- em.
-
I only hate kids who have done no research on the raids, and of course,
KINECT MICS
Edited by Vic: 3/9/2015 7:44:35 PMIt's funny how people expect to find mostly adults on a teen rated game.
-
Here is the thing. I'm 35 years old. Wouldn't it be awkward for me to be out playing with a random 13 year old that wasn't my son or daughter? With so many people online now, xbox live needs to be treated more like a type of dating site. I would like to see age brackets of gamers that are around my age and share similar gaming interests. I don't know how other gamers feel, but myself, I don't want to play with kids. I am an adult with a family. Playing with people my own age allows me to unwind and talk about life's frustrations with someone who understands and can relate to those frustrations. It's tough to explain.

You squeakers are pretty good in game usually.. Its the forum squeakers that are the worst. This is the worst community in the history of gaming.
-
Ya see little guy. You youngins are a bit to optimistic and full of great ideas that don't work. Don't let us old people take that away from you. Just because an idea fails doesn't mean it's no good. Older folk just want to get what ever it is done. Raids, bounties doesn't matter we have our routines and don't like it when people change them. We have important drinking to get to before we blackout in time to wake up for our miserable day jobs. It should be you not wanting to play with us. P.S. Your moms voice drives us nuts too and your siblings. Lock your door or mute the mic.
-
Keep at it Tyler. Don't let a video game, or people who you'll never meet in real life (and probably never in the game again) get you down.
-
Im 13 and sound like a 16 year old so i dont have this prob
-
is it just me or does it always seem like "squeakers" mic is really loud, or are they sticking it down there throat. turn your mic down, please.

I appreciate the quality of your spelling and grammar. Not perfect, but far better than alot of people on these forums. That being said. I have had my worst raid experiences with kids in this game. Some are perfectly fine, but my odds are better if I stick to groups of adults rather than teenagers. Especially young ones. But, an hour ago I joined a group of kids (or teenagers, not sure) that posted on lfg they needed help badly. I ran their sword and we neat Crota on Normal. 2 of them were first timers, got really excited, and it made me happy. THAT was a good group experience.

If you are looking for people to raid with, with no snobbery check out Brothers Until Death.
-
I don't give two -blam!-s. If your voice is annoying, I will bring it up. If your skill is acceptable, I will bring it up. If you have a problem, I will bring it up.
-
I think a lot of people would agree with me in saying they don't give a monkey's if people under 14 aren't enjoying themselves. I'd pay extra to not be matchmade with you. You lot can all bigger off to Club Penguin.
-
I just hate how they just talk on and on.
-
I am in my 50's and I play Destiny with my sons who are now in their early 20's. I only enter the voice chat when we raid so I usually don't know the persons age I am playing with. Providing the player isn't swearing like a sailor, having a tantrum when they get killed or the team wipes (that goes for all ages), we will continue to run the raid with whoever joins.
-
As long as you don't yell (squeak) into the mic... :D
-
Xbox live and Internet bullying go hand in hand. Been like that since the launch of online gaming. I am an adult and the same thing happens to all of us. Some people just wanna be rude, they get off on being rude. (#dont feed the trolls) Also, playing with a group of kids = loud, chaos, useless chatter, no teamwork, know it alls with no raid gear- NEVER FINISHES RAID Lastly every time I end up with little kids, I think to myself." Am I going to show up on a Pedifile database"
-
My best raid team members are 12 to 14 on my friends list and I am 35. I play with a 63 year old lady and the thorn she earned that I can't. I am happy to play with kids and offer them life advice in return for their youth and twitch skills.
-
i play with a 13 y/o that has a fairly high pitched voice, been playing all sorts of games with him and my other friends that are around 17, he might have an annoying voice but he knows what hes doing, hes our sword bearer for every crota raid and he can get it done in 1 sword on normal and 2/3 on hard. some people should be more open to playing with younger people, this game is rated T not M. although we do get a good laugh making fun of him occasionally, hes cool and adds in to the fun, some people are different thats how it works when playing games like this

Very eloquent for a 13 year old. Bravo. Plus I hate bullies so it sucks if you are being bullied. Give them as good as you get.
