Hate Against Kids (Rant)
Hello I am a [u]13 year old[/u] gamer and I play [b]Destiny[/b]. When I join someone or go on [b]raids [/b]I am Called "[i]Squeaker[/i]".
I am apparently someone to laugh at and abuse for being [u]2 years[/u] younger then another person. About 1 in 15 people are nice and don't care. When I need help with a Raid I invite people and ask people for help, then I am abused because I am [u]13 [/u]and have a voice that is kind of high.
I play with[u] 6-9 year old's[/u] if they need help... most other people just bully them and ruin the experience of Communication on this awesome [b]MMO[/b]. I love [b]Destiny [/b]it is fascinating and enjoyable... but about [b]70%[/b] of the community are bullies towards "Little Kids". If you don't want to play with someone because they have a voice that you absolutely can't stand, don't be a Bully just say "Sorry I really don't want to do this... I want to do other things" as appose to hurting feelings and being a dick.
You were a kid once whats wrong with it?
If they are screaming in the microphone and being really Annoying then give them a chance tell them your gonna kick them if they keep going, then if they keep going don't retaliate just be chill and say "Hey you had your warning... sorry your being kicked".
The thread is about people being bullies after they say a few words in a high voice. Also if they try to be funny don't laugh and say that wasn't really that funny try something else. About 4 years ago I got Xbox with COD and I did these things to so I can understand why people gave them this reputation. I feel it should be changed a little bit. Fighting fire with fire never works out it's just a waste of time.
If this is changed I would think [b]Destiny [/b]would be more inviting and people under [u]14 [/u] would enjoy it a lot more!
Also shut up about ratings. Look at the movies people sneak in all the time your not gonna stop anything.
In Australia you are allowed to play it so you can't say crap about kids from Aussie. Think of something without involving ratings or do you need to rely on them?

The most trouble I've had with kids are the 15-17yo. Any that I've ever played with are dramatic and act as if they were the Destiny Gods. I try to tolerate it as long as possible, but it's so frustrating.

Last time I was in a group with a child in it, he was nearly crying because he couldn't find a swordbearer on LFG.com. I left after 3 minutes. aint dealin with shit like that.

I've also never really had the problem withy the high voice thing I'm 16 and have been playing with a mic since around 13 or 14 and my voice was already changing at 13 so sometimes when someone asks how old I am they get a bit off guard saying oh I thought u were 18 or 20 lol

Some younger kids are fine to play with, it's the ones that talk and talk and talk and talk and talk constantly about the weapons they have the ones they want and other things that I don't want to spend a whole raid talking about. That alone is enough to make me want to leave regardless of this persons skill, I'll usually stay because I'm a nice guy. On the other hand I've played with young kids that will talk about other stuff, call out enemies and take care of business. Not everyone is a dick, my advice keep the conversation on the task.

Lol this game is 13+ so I think people can get mad if little kids are on here because this game isn't really made for kids under 11

6 RepliesI get "oh your a girl?!" I am not the best jumper or the best at Destiny but i try. It may take me a few times to do something but i will do. I don't care if you are 10 yrs old or 100. Treat everyone with respect and be nice and play the game we all love. If anyone is on PS3 add me and we will run together.

1 ReplyIt's okay dude. I'm 21, and when I started playing online games and using a mic a lot of people treated me the same way. Most people who were born in the early 90s like me went through it. We were the first generation of kids to play online games. Now that we are older we like to treat the little kids how we were treated. It's sort of like a rite of passage. I never really complained about it as a kid, because well I knew my place. But I couldn't wait TIL I was older so I could have the sense of entitlement that comes with being older. You'll get there kid, don't worry

1 ReplyI think there's a lack of awareness for a lot of young players... We have a 14 y/o who sounds like a 10 y/o.... He will continuously talk through an entire raid and will rarely stop to take a breath... He's a sweet kid and he's not a bad player at all, but he just doesn't stop talking, asking questions which he then answers himself... I find the rest of my group stop talking to each other as time goes on as everyone seems to be grinding their teeth together by a certain point!

I usually love the reaction I get when someone joins and says "Hey man." and I reply with "Hi there." and they either are shocked and don't say anything, or they can't tell that I'm a girl and continue to call me "man." It's great. My voice is fairly mono-tone, so I don't have a problem with it 24/7, but the problem still exists. Good luck with your problem, though!

I usually dont get annoyed with youngsters untill they start talking too much and making excuses when they die. But then again alot of adults do that shit too.

I have no issue with young players. in fact i try to assist them as much as possible. However there are some that are unbearable . Before you judging against older people , you shall realise that older people deal with tons of other shit that you have no idea of. Life , family , work responsibilities , lack of time etc.. You basically can't expect everyone who plays a game to have patience to non ending questions screams etc.. i can stand maybe longer because i am a father and i have to live similar sounds in my actual life but as eplained many people just get on playing games to relax and get rid of the daily stress. So as you are hoping older people to be more understandable , you shall also try to act same and cut some slack to older people when you play games with them.

Squeakers usually always play terrible in raids. They don't stick with the team, end up dying and it is not their fault according to them. Also a thing squeakers do is leaving in the middle of a raid to do some chores or something like that. And they expect that we wait or go on whilst him doing nothing. And they also think that they are the best natural leaders, and they know the raid the best. The reality is that they are poor leaders who try to the cheese an entire raid, calling said cheese a "tactic" or "strategy". I don't mind playing with young kids, but they have to good behaviour. Its not about them. Its about all of us. We all want to get to raid not just for you, but for everyone. Squeakers simply don't understand this idea. Im sorry kid, but people under 14 should not be playing games like. In Europe the game is rated PEGI-16, meaning you need to be 16 years old to buy it. And i feel that you need to be 16 at least to play this game. I do not hate Squeakers, but i rather play with a relaxed 20+ year old guy then some stuck-up 10 year old who thinks he knows it all

Also I'm 14 and not a "squeaker" but just be forth going and try not to let them boss you around, use wit so you make them sound ignorant or stupid so they shut up and people laugh at them and just be cool if you have a higher voice don't be a constant annoyance.

2 RepliesThe only kids I dont like raiding with are the ones who never stop talking, are know it alls, or who get really mad. If you're none of those id raid with you anytime. I've gotten bullied after joining raid teams too and Im no squeaker. Dont let stupid people ruin the game for you, there are decent people out there I promise
