Hate Against Kids (Rant)
Hello I am a [u]13 year old[/u] gamer and I play [b]Destiny[/b]. When I join someone or go on [b]raids [/b]I am Called "[i]Squeaker[/i]".
I am apparently someone to laugh at and abuse for being [u]2 years[/u] younger then another person. About 1 in 15 people are nice and don't care. When I need help with a Raid I invite people and ask people for help, then I am abused because I am [u]13 [/u]and have a voice that is kind of high.
I play with[u] 6-9 year old's[/u] if they need help... most other people just bully them and ruin the experience of Communication on this awesome [b]MMO[/b]. I love [b]Destiny [/b]it is fascinating and enjoyable... but about [b]70%[/b] of the community are bullies towards "Little Kids". If you don't want to play with someone because they have a voice that you absolutely can't stand, don't be a Bully just say "Sorry I really don't want to do this... I want to do other things" as appose to hurting feelings and being a dick.
You were a kid once whats wrong with it?
If they are screaming in the microphone and being really Annoying then give them a chance tell them your gonna kick them if they keep going, then if they keep going don't retaliate just be chill and say "Hey you had your warning... sorry your being kicked".
The thread is about people being bullies after they say a few words in a high voice. Also if they try to be funny don't laugh and say that wasn't really that funny try something else. About 4 years ago I got Xbox with COD and I did these things to so I can understand why people gave them this reputation. I feel it should be changed a little bit. Fighting fire with fire never works out it's just a waste of time.
If this is changed I would think [b]Destiny [/b]would be more inviting and people under [u]14 [/u] would enjoy it a lot more!
Also shut up about ratings. Look at the movies people sneak in all the time your not gonna stop anything.
In Australia you are allowed to play it so you can't say crap about kids from Aussie. Think of something without involving ratings or do you need to rely on them?

Your tears mean nothing. .. the difference between your gaming at a pre prepubescent age and mine is that multiplayer then was going to my friend's house. You get brief bc even if you're competent, your voice is annoying. Find other children to play with until your nuts drop with your voice. Just be cool man, don't be a douche (and don't become one). No rush bro, just deal with it

Very mature post young man.. Keep in mind people of all ages are very brave when sitting behind a keyboard. Be helpful and don't act like a spoiled kid (which I'm sure you're not) and you will find most will be fine having you on the team.

I can live with you guys, more or less it's just the pitch of your guy's voice that gives me a headache. Not saying you are at fault but I can become easily agitated at that point. Although mentioned in some other comments, your peers have left a large void, by being loud, obnoxious, and just down right annoying. A lot of my (loosely) dislike for the age group comes from my days playing Modern Warfare and following titles.

5 RepliesThis game combines people who play two genres of games that are usually rated M, MMO's and shooters. Most of us are used to dealing with older players. These boards often complain about "squeakers" being annoying, rude know it alls etc. There are more reasons though on why adults prefer playing with other adults. 1. We like to play with people we have things in common with. (How often do you hang out with adults besides relatives for fun? Well that's how we feel about kids) 2. We like to get content done as efficiently as possible. Nothing worse than hearing some kids mom tell them it's time for dinner and they need to leave or Dad wants to use the TV. 3. When playing with adults we don't need to censor ourselves. I love to crack jokes and have a good time. When a minor is around I often have to censor myself as not to offend or actually commit a crime by saying something that would have been perfectly fine and funny if it were all adults. 4. Drama, a lot of kids love to start fights and arguments. Most adults don't have the time or don't want to waste any effort dealing with "E thugs". There are plenty more reasons but I think you get the idea. As far as abuse goes, chances are those abusing you are squeakers themselves who's voice recently changed. Most adults won't bully little children since they were once children and most likely got bullied as well. For the record I don't consider kicking you as bullying, I would consider harassing you over your age or making fun of you bullying. As I said earlier most adults playing this are used to playing M rated games where they usually don't have to deal with as many children. It's just something you have to deal with. Make a clan of people in your age group and have fun with your friends. I'll have fun with mine. good luck.

I really don't care how old you are. Your behavior in the team is what matters. It just so happens that younger players tend to be loud, obnoxious, and disrespectful. That's where the prejudice towards "squeakers"(such an ignorant term) comes from. One of the players I've spent most time with in destiny just happens to be 13 or so. He's very mature and respectful and that's why I prefer to have him on my team whenever we're both online.

I'm 37. I believe that it would be inappropriate to game with someone who's not an adult (18yo). If either of us join the other's fireteam, I'm leaving...no offense.

I like to play with anyone as long as they don't scream and every other word is a cuss word. Little kids that scream i give them a warning that i will mute them if I have to. Most of the time they aren't that bad and so pretty good on the raids.

I don't want kids in my party. That [b]preference[/b] is not bullying. I don't want to hear you kids talk, whine, or fail to comply with the group's focus. Join a clan of kids your age. Also, never heard "squeaker" before...that's funny.

When I get a kid who will not do anything legit, I usually kick them. Most kids are fine, but some only know how to cheese, and scream for us to do it their way.

My only problem with them is the same problem I have with any gamer. "Let me show you (this)!" "Did you know you can (this)!" "I have (this gun)!" I don't care. Just kill (insert enemy) and shut up!

my biggest problem is that most of them think they need to give instruction on how to do the raid, like they need to prove they know what's going on. Typically there is one or two people who are the raid leaders, let them do their damn thing, give cues and such, and not talk over them. Generally, that's the advice: don't try to talk over people, and don't try to lead the damn raid or give advice. Just be calm, be helpful, contribute when asked, and most of all, don't -blam!- up.

I won't out a kid if they are manageable. If you're over barring in the chat, won't listen to advice, or dragging down the team to the point that tiring you'll get the boot. That's my stance on any player of any age.

I've played with some kids, if they talk only when necessary it's fine. Because while I don't mind side chatter and joking around, the younger the player the harder they seem to be able to keep on track. A simple comment on how we should change something while fighting Crota, Atheon, etc, will turn into nonstop rattling which gets extremely annoying. Making a funny comment while going through the lamps is much different than going on repeating everything that was said before. You could be the best Destiny player in the world, but if your communication skills are trash you're going to get backlash.

If said "squeaker" stays quiet the duration of the raid idc. When most, and I'm sure people know what I'm talking about here, the "squeakers" tend to re-narrate EVERYTHING said person leading the raid says. I tried to be nice and help with Crota the other day. Needless to say there were 3 very young kids, whatever no biggie. I played games at that age too and went through the same thing (currently 21). But I knew to fairly be quiet, anyways. When I said to down Crota (was running sword) they ALL repeated me about 4 times and it just sounded like squirrels in a blender everytime I spoke. Fairly got on my nerves and they couldn't even down him in time cause they clearly didn't understand the fight. I have 0 problem if they are fairly mature and can listen. I don't care about what gun you have or want, or how you did this solo or what not. Shoot your gun, get the loot, don't be bad.

You'll find this hard to believe, but it's really easy to tell that you're a squeaker even when you're not squeaking. You reckon two years, but it's more like six. If you've never run a household, it's really really obvious. If you're fifteen, you don't even know enough about being an adult to know that you sound like you're not one.

I have had many younger players (12 and up) on raid teams. most do fine, one was probably better than most of us and a couple were just back-packing and didn't help at all. The same story with any randoms you might come across. So i have no prejudice.

I'm an adult if I want to game with kids I will turn off my PS4 and go into the living room and game with my own. No-one owes you anything. Learn this lesson now before it's too late.

Im an old school kind of guy that believes that under 18s should only game with under 18s, ppl from the same age bracket will share the same interests, hobbies etc. My friends & i curse, tell dirty jokes & tbh its not the kind of environment for a child.

I dont care what age someone is, i do care if they are annoying. You know, talking way too much about irrelevant stuff, yelling (getting overly excited) or just complaining too much. I notice it is usually, not always, the young one who do all of these. I was probly the same way 25 years ago, but now that im on the other end i find it unbearable. So if people call you a squeaker, just try to limit how much you talk and dont give them reasons to make fun of you.

2 RepliesThere is a reason I don't like playing with kids. I have a story to go along with this, so don't just make assumptions. This random joined our fireteam during a crota raid. He had a decent grimoire score, was a 32, and we were missing a player, so we decided to invite him to the party. Turns out he was 10 years old. He also had an annoying habit of making his voice even higher, as a way of talking like a 4 year old. Crota went smoothly enough, and we went to do vog. The kid came with us, and was a liability the whole time. He, as a 32, was more useless than the two 28s that we had in the team. We got to Atheon, in spite of the kid, when he really became annoying. Atheon had a sliver of health left, and we could have easily finished him off, except that the kid threw up a bubble to "Give us weapons of light" which covered everyone so we couldn't fire, forcing us to go through the portal another run, and leaving only one of the 28's on the outside to open the portal on his own. We were able to beat Atheon, in spite of this kid, and that is when we left. The moral of the story is that the kid sucked, and on top of that was annoying. On top of that, didn't own up to his mistake. He acted like he didn't activate the bubble, after he announced that he was putting up a bubble, and after we all saw him do it. The problem with most people your age is that they don't have the maturity to understand that they can be irritating. You, OP, also don't understand that older people don't want to play with people your age. It doesn't feel right when you are playing a raid with someone half of your age. This game doesn't need to be inviting to people of a younger age, because people of a younger age need to have a maturity check. If you don't like playing with these people, than play with people who are your age.
