Hello I am a 13 year old gamer and I play Destiny. When I join someone or go on raids I am Called "Squeaker".
I am apparently someone to laugh at and abuse for being 2 years younger then another person. About 1 in 15 people are nice and don't care. When I need help with a Raid I invite people and ask people for help, then I am abused because I am 13 and have a voice that is kind of high.
I play with 6-9 year old's if they need help... most other people just bully them and ruin the experience of Communication on this awesome MMO. I love Destiny it is fascinating and enjoyable... but about 70% of the community are bullies towards "Little Kids". If you don't want to play with someone because they have a voice that you absolutely can't stand, don't be a Bully just say "Sorry I really don't want to do this... I want to do other things" as appose to hurting feelings and being a dick.
You were a kid once whats wrong with it?
If they are screaming in the microphone and being really Annoying then give them a chance tell them your gonna kick them if they keep going, then if they keep going don't retaliate just be chill and say "Hey you had your warning... sorry your being kicked".
The thread is about people being bullies after they say a few words in a high voice. Also if they try to be funny don't laugh and say that wasn't really that funny try something else. About 4 years ago I got Xbox with COD and I did these things to so I can understand why people gave them this reputation. I feel it should be changed a little bit. Fighting fire with fire never works out it's just a waste of time.
If this is changed I would think Destiny would be more inviting and people under 14 would enjoy it a lot more!
Also shut up about ratings. Look at the movies people sneak in all the time your not gonna stop anything.
In Australia you are allowed to play it so you can't say crap about kids from Aussie. Think of something without involving ratings or do you need to rely on them?
Australia has different spelling and grammar and I am 13 get off my case.
There is a reason I don't like playing with kids. I have a story to go along with this, so don't just make assumptions. This random joined our fireteam during a crota raid. He had a decent grimoire score, was a 32, and we were missing a player, so we decided to invite him to the party. Turns out he was 10 years old. He also had an annoying habit of making his voice even higher, as a way of talking like a 4 year old. Crota went smoothly enough, and we went to do vog. The kid came with us, and was a liability the whole time. He, as a 32, was more useless than the two 28s that we had in the team. We got to Atheon, in spite of the kid, when he really became annoying. Atheon had a sliver of health left, and we could have easily finished him off, except that the kid threw up a bubble to "Give us weapons of light" which covered everyone so we couldn't fire, forcing us to go through the portal another run, and leaving only one of the 28's on the outside to open the portal on his own. We were able to beat Atheon, in spite of this kid, and that is when we left. The moral of the story is that the kid sucked, and on top of that was annoying. On top of that, didn't own up to his mistake. He acted like he didn't activate the bubble, after he announced that he was putting up a bubble, and after we all saw him do it. The problem with most people your age is that they don't have the maturity to understand that they can be irritating. You, OP, also don't understand that older people don't want to play with people your age. It doesn't feel right when you are playing a raid with someone half of your age. This game doesn't need to be inviting to people of a younger age, because people of a younger age need to have a maturity check. If you don't like playing with these people, than play with people who are your age.

Hahaha oh god this thread brings back memories. I was once in your shoes. When I was around your age I was playing Counter Strike for PC and there wouldn't be a game where my voice wasn't made fun of. Just stick it out. You won't have that high pitched voice forever.
-
Squeakers tend to talk to much and it gets really irritating when they talk over you when you give them advice on how to do the raid. Not all are loud though but most are and my ear drums hurt after a "squeakers" been on with us lol
-
I don't care that much but I'd rather not play with 12-14 year olds since I teach them all day long. On that note, go do your homework, I'm sure you have some...
-
I hate all kids not one kid gets treated differently I just don't like you all because mainly they just annoy me. Plus the game is rating 16!
-
I'm an older gamer but have no qualms in helping out youngsters if they need it.... I think that everyone deserves a chance and I have been helped out myself so I don't mind paying it forward
-
My son and I play a lot - he is 12 and typically can only hear/chat those on his friends list so they have no clue of his age but they probably think I'm some kind of parrot when I repeat important info although he knows the drills for raids/nightfalls/etc... so doesn't really need the chat anyway. When he is mic'd up, he knows not to jabber. I've played with plenty of annoying adults, at least the kids have a bit of an excuse (being kids...)

Your statistic are made up and not factual. Maybe when you hit high school with you understand the importance of logos. /quit
-
I try to make it a point not to play with kids. Some times I get a little heated and say words I find inappropriate for younger ears.
-
I'm fine with younger players. But most of the time I end up finding LOUD, nonstop talking kids that make me and my friend want to rip our ears off.
-
Anybody remember these situations in halo? Yea me too...
-
As long as you don't talk about puberty and make your voice crack intentionally too act cool. We are cool

Edited by Angrysteve83: 3/9/2015 2:01:06 PMHere's a tip for the kids. Stop inviting all of your friends to raid party chat and treating it like your own social party. Most everything else can be tuned out, especially those of us who have our own kids. But nothing is more annoying then xxsqueaker420x69xx joins party, then 3 or 4 randoms join and engage in after school social hour.

This game sucks now because of "little kids". In my mind if Destiny was rated M not T, Bungee probably would've crated a better game. 6-9 year olds! Are you kidding me, that's a ridiculous age to be playing games, let alone expecting to play or get help from someone that could be twice your age. If your that young, I'm guessing you don't have the computing power to stay calm or follow directions while doing anything of Destiny since half the time (raids) your wiping continually (most the time because of their screw ups)! If your that young you should never expect special treatment. "End rant"

What 6 year old is playing destiny
-
You set up a great post with good vocab and grammar, I respect the hell out of you
-
Actually I wouldn't give a -blam!- if you would stop screaming into the mic in the first place and would stop asking me about my favorite youtuber and shit. Be nice, don't scream into the mic, don't tell me your whole lifestory and stop playing music into the mic. Play good, don't brag and you're welcome.
-
It's very simple. I'm 14, so I don't use a mic. That way no-one is annoyed by my voice, and when I'm about to do something important, I wave frantically at my team mates, kind of like the super secret signal from team America
-
You need a spank.
-
I'm 13 and have a deep voice and don't tell people I'm thirteen tell I get my rewards
-
I get two kinds of kids. The know it alls that won't stop talking the entire time (I usually leave these groups because it wears on my patience. But I'm the same way with older players that have people that can't shut up or says stupid shit constantly) And the polite kids that listen and offer strategies and good advice. I don't mind helping these guys out or even having them on my list to game with in the future b

Had a squeaker join my raid team yesterday, wanted the sword, let him have it, and he totally killed it. Even recovered from a glitch like a pro. 1st try. That being said, two things about squeakers. 1) long term issue: I'll play a raid/strike with you and am more than glad to help with random stuff. You will never become a regular on my friendlist though. Here's why: I'm an adult. You're a minor. Having a non regulated list of 10-13 year old boys that I regularly talk to is not socially acceptable. I don't want to be put in a situation where a little kid says something or their parents hear something and then suddenly my psn is handed over to the fbi. Simple as that. 2) short term issue: I don't care if you're 13 or 31. If you're an ass; if you're annoying; if you don't listen during strat talks, if your ego is so inflated that you talk an unacceptable amount of trash, you will be booted. Unfortunately, the percentage of LFG squeakers that are like this are much higher than the percentage of LFG adults which leads to the general perception you discuss.

Hey, don't worry. Many of destiny players are mama boys or they gey bullied. Or only bad people. If you encounter them, mute them or insult their mother. Sincerly A 14 year old boy.
-
You can't fix this... I've had more bad experiences than good when it comes to kids in the fire team. Most of mine have been squeakers who try to cruse more than a sailor or one that wants to explain every encounter like no one but them has beaten it...
-
Thanks for taking the words out of my mouth. I am 14 and have a high voice as well!
-
I'm 43 so mostly everyone who plays this game is young to me. I've had good and bad experiences when raiding with young players (in your age bracket). Sorry you are having a bad experience. At the end of the day this is a game and about having fun. Hope you find a group that's fun to raid with.
