Hello I am a 13 year old gamer and I play Destiny. When I join someone or go on raids I am Called "Squeaker".
I am apparently someone to laugh at and abuse for being 2 years younger then another person. About 1 in 15 people are nice and don't care. When I need help with a Raid I invite people and ask people for help, then I am abused because I am 13 and have a voice that is kind of high.
I play with 6-9 year old's if they need help... most other people just bully them and ruin the experience of Communication on this awesome MMO. I love Destiny it is fascinating and enjoyable... but about 70% of the community are bullies towards "Little Kids". If you don't want to play with someone because they have a voice that you absolutely can't stand, don't be a Bully just say "Sorry I really don't want to do this... I want to do other things" as appose to hurting feelings and being a dick.
You were a kid once whats wrong with it?
If they are screaming in the microphone and being really Annoying then give them a chance tell them your gonna kick them if they keep going, then if they keep going don't retaliate just be chill and say "Hey you had your warning... sorry your being kicked".
The thread is about people being bullies after they say a few words in a high voice. Also if they try to be funny don't laugh and say that wasn't really that funny try something else. About 4 years ago I got Xbox with COD and I did these things to so I can understand why people gave them this reputation. I feel it should be changed a little bit. Fighting fire with fire never works out it's just a waste of time.
If this is changed I would think Destiny would be more inviting and people under 14 would enjoy it a lot more!
Also shut up about ratings. Look at the movies people sneak in all the time your not gonna stop anything.
In Australia you are allowed to play it so you can't say crap about kids from Aussie. Think of something without involving ratings or do you need to rely on them?
Australia has different spelling and grammar and I am 13 get off my case.
Your version of bullying and mine seem to differ a bit. Bullying is far more than just saying your voice is annoying and not wanting to play. The voice itself usually isn't the main issue though, it is more of the immaturity and general attitude that is an issue. As for your saying not to say it's the reason for leaving, why should someone lie just to save you from the harsh truth? There is no reason someone should have to make an excuse just because they can't stand being in the party. That's not to say they should be blatantly rude about it, but I would never make up some lie just to safe you from a little hurt feelings that you can easily ignore and get over. Welcome to reality bud, life is harsh sometimes. You will learn to deal with the pain and ignore it, you will eventually grow up and no longer have the issue anyway.

I'm 12 and I never get called squeaker, been in a few raids aswell
-
Most people don't like playing with kids because A: they wont shut up B: They suck C: They suck and every time its a glitch that only seems to affect them D: They think they are the master of the game and despite having a lower level, shitty weapons, and no hours playing proceed to tell the entire fire team how to play and what they are doing wrong. E: They won't shut up with their high pitched jabbering (I'm aware its posted twice, its that annoying)
-
I'm 16, and I consider myself raised right, so I'm never called annoying or stupid, most think I'm older than I am. But I met this kid the other day, seventh grader. At the time we were running through the raids with a couple buddies of mine, and he was picked off lfg with his friend, also his age. Now this dude was good, quiet, respectful. But the other dude felt it was right to critique every single part of my Hunter, from my perk on arc blade (razor's edge) to the fact I was using secret handshake, which I was trying out, cause I heard how good it was. I don't have Felwinter's lie, and he kept bugging me about it, even though I don't really play pvp. He even yelled at me for using Thorn, because "that gun sucks and is only for noobs." Let me say this again,I only really play pve,and we were doing Crota. We were four manning it, so I would pop a Thorn shot in to keep his shields down while more rockets were shot at him. The moment I got the shards that got me to 32,he shut up. It was just a frustrating experience for me over all, and the main reason I don't like playing with squeakers since then.

I only leave if they start screaming constantly into the head set. I try volume first but if I can't hear the rest of the team (if it is obvious they are not 100% sure what to do) and my ears are ringing I will bounce. It is the minority of young players, but when you get the wrong one...
-
There are a small minority that are ok and I appreciate that but when I raid I like to chill and get things done. There is nothing worse when you have a child rambling on about the same thing over and over again telling people how to do things when they already know and stuff. That's just from experience. I avoid at all costs but I am not ignorant to the fact there is those out there who are not like that at all.
-
Its true voice is not the issue. It is usually lack of patience. And they are usually the first to come up with an outlandish excuse. Although if they have some skill i just hit mute and push on. Putting together a good raid team is more important to me

Australia? Shrimp on tha BArBay!!

Sorry its hard out there for you young Guardian. Unfortunately when kids get to about 14-15 they like to try and make themselves feel older by ripping on people younger than themselves. Often right about the time that little bit of fuzz appears on their chin (4 hairs on a top lip does not = moustache BTW). Be reassured that no adult thinks someone having a go at kids is an adult either, just a teenager trying to assert themselves. Everything is perspective, I hear 20 year olds talking about kids and squeakers on fireteam chat, and just have to chuckle at myself at how to me THEY are the ones that sound like kids! Best bet is to try and join a junior clan, or why not try and find people similar to you and start one yourself? Good luck out there!

I'm pretty happy that this kid's from Australia, great display of the intelligence and maturity that us Aussies get from a young age.
-
Yeah I was a kid once. But when I was a kid I was playing outside, getting my scrapes and bruises not playing video games all day. Learn how to deal with bullying from actual human interaction by standing up for yourself, in the real world. Bullying will never go away, ever, so start learning how to stand up and not be the victim.
-
Go away. Thats about as nice as i can get. >.>
-
If I join into an all squeaker group, I just quit.
-
Silly troll
-
Sigh another 9yo cod fanboy... (For the record I really don't care what someone sounds like. I DO however care what ppl say)
-
I've had some bad run ins with some "squeakers" and all I ever hear is omg guys what's over here?! All around each location in the raids and die. About more than 50 percent of the time I leave cause we can't even get past Gorgons maze. So my judgement is completely tarnished because I have met some good kids but if you want to raid don't make a joke out of it and keep your jokes back at elementary school and we focus then we can team up.
-
Hold in there bud, it's just the shit you have to put up with. When started playing halo 2 online almost 13 years ago I was considered a squeker.
-
I'm sorry i hate children (all under 26, yeah they are the new generation kids) in general. Most of them are annoying....
-
You help 9 year olds? Doesn't this game have a rating if T? Bad parenting at its finest.
-
Its not age that matters to me, its maturity level.
-
I don't care if somebody is 9 or 79. If you're a squeaker, that's fine, but don't come into my daily fireteam trash talking and bossing everybody around when we know what to do. If you know a better way to do something, that's great we're all for hearing it, but bring it up in a mature way. If you're respectful, act civilized, patient, don't take it too seriously, and are willing to learn, you can join my fireteam any time. Also, when there are 5 of us who only do Raids legit and have no problem succeeding, don't come in and start complaining that it's taking too long and we should cheese it. That will most likely earn you a one way trip up to orbit. This is only a video game, we want to have a good time above all else.

Australia doesnt have different ways of spelling, america just needs to check their dictionary with the rest of the world...
-
Yeh. I myself am 13. Have a pretty low voice already and have never had the high pitch/ squeaker problem. But I see where your coming from... People don't have to like you... But just because of that they don't have to be cranky cūnts either. #AusFTW

I'm 15 and some people dont let me in raids, i dont care who i play with coz im not allowed to use a mic :\
PS: IM AUSSIE TOO
-
Honestly you stop caring after 18. Do yourself a favor and get over it.

Agree far too many assholes on this game/the internet in general. Unfortunately I have to say this is my first MMO with people from the US and I noticed a pretty huge increase in assholes Vs. the EU servers I normally play on :S. I mean they aren't all bad of course but there really is a very big difference in the amount of assholes that just swear, talk about weed the entire raid, cuss constantly, screaming into their mic like a crazy person, call everyone a "fag" at least twice, etc etc.
