Hate Against Kids (Rant)
Hello I am a [u]13 year old[/u] gamer and I play [b]Destiny[/b]. When I join someone or go on [b]raids [/b]I am Called "[i]Squeaker[/i]".
I am apparently someone to laugh at and abuse for being [u]2 years[/u] younger then another person. About 1 in 15 people are nice and don't care. When I need help with a Raid I invite people and ask people for help, then I am abused because I am [u]13 [/u]and have a voice that is kind of high.
I play with[u] 6-9 year old's[/u] if they need help... most other people just bully them and ruin the experience of Communication on this awesome [b]MMO[/b]. I love [b]Destiny [/b]it is fascinating and enjoyable... but about [b]70%[/b] of the community are bullies towards "Little Kids". If you don't want to play with someone because they have a voice that you absolutely can't stand, don't be a Bully just say "Sorry I really don't want to do this... I want to do other things" as appose to hurting feelings and being a dick.
You were a kid once whats wrong with it?
If they are screaming in the microphone and being really Annoying then give them a chance tell them your gonna kick them if they keep going, then if they keep going don't retaliate just be chill and say "Hey you had your warning... sorry your being kicked".
The thread is about people being bullies after they say a few words in a high voice. Also if they try to be funny don't laugh and say that wasn't really that funny try something else. About 4 years ago I got Xbox with COD and I did these things to so I can understand why people gave them this reputation. I feel it should be changed a little bit. Fighting fire with fire never works out it's just a waste of time.
If this is changed I would think [b]Destiny [/b]would be more inviting and people under [u]14 [/u] would enjoy it a lot more!
Also shut up about ratings. Look at the movies people sneak in all the time your not gonna stop anything.
In Australia you are allowed to play it so you can't say crap about kids from Aussie. Think of something without involving ratings or do you need to rely on them?

1 ReplyAgree far too many assholes on this game/the internet in general. Unfortunately I have to say this is my first MMO with people from the US and I noticed a pretty huge increase in assholes Vs. the EU servers I normally play on :S. I mean they aren't all bad of course but there really is a very big difference in the amount of assholes that just swear, talk about weed the entire raid, cuss constantly, screaming into their mic like a crazy person, call everyone a "fag" at least twice, etc etc.

The term squeaker is hilarious to me but I'm only commenting because I hate when I get in on a game and have to listen to kids screaming and being incoherent just because. High pitched screams for no reason.

I mostly play with randoms and one thing that surprised me is that almost everyone I get matched with is 25 and up. (Age not level) which I have to say has been pretty nice. I'm 31. That being said I've probably raided with 5 different groups with some young kids or all young kids and 4 of them were a good time. Except one. That one was horrible. Kids talking nonstop about how amazing they are, how many great weapons they have, dying then blaming other people. (For ex. Kid drops shield from relic and jumps out of mid first with 5 second countdown just starting on times vengeance. Blames everyone for being in his way.) This post was too long but anyways, kids are cool. Some are pricks. Older dudes are cool. Some are pricks.

Don't like to use the term, but "squeakers" are generally ok. However, we did play with two on a VoG run last night and they can be very frustrating as an older gamer! They would not stop talking and their adolescence was blatantly obvious. After last night, I would say I prefer playing with adults but I would never give grief to a kid for being a kid.

I don't mind playin with younger people just don't act like you know everything. Kids tend to get lipy and blame everyone else for there mistakes. Own up and have respect for other gamers and the sound of your voice dosnt mater.

I think it all depends...I'm 23 and I've played with this one kid that I thought was a teen, turns out he was only 9! And he would get too excited and yell really loud when he would die, so I helped him out a few times but after that he kept following me everywhere and even when my profile was on "Invite Only" he would send me countless of messages non stop to help him, even on simple bounties. I had to let him go...but like I said it all depends on your attitude.

Got to admit i like kids, got 2 girl - twins. 1.7 yo. Lot my friends in game kids around 9 yo, all 32.

The annoying thing about squeaky kids on this game to me personally is I rarely meet one that is a team player. They always try to do things on their own and get killed or act like they know what they are doing and try to lead a raid but end up doing it wrong. You kids may be quite good at the game but shut up and listen instead of talking all the time and you will get some respect through your play

It's funny because this is a KIDS game, so why shouldn't kids play it? You don't wanna hear squeakers go play ArmA or EVE.

I was on with a few the other day. One young "squeaker", three who were a couple of years older if that and me and another guy who were a lot older. TBF they could play, however the bragging about how well they played, claims on exotic engrams being dropped in open play, and the screams when the raid was completed were enough for me to think it wasn't something I want to repeat too many times if I can help it.

1 Reply95% of the "squeakers" that I play with aren't all that bad, in fact, they're a lot more mature than some of the "adults" that I'm teamed with.

I am 23 yrs old and I won't judge a person solely on their voice immediately. I have a deeper voice and sometimes it intimidates others but I do my best to keep everyone in my fireteams loose and engaged. I just wanna play with people who really enjoy the game and who don't act entitled like everything should be handed to them.

This is a teen and older game, we shouldn't have anyone 12, much less 6 playing, saying we should have more 14 and younger players is wrong in every way, play something else instead if you don't like the attitude of the players, because just like you like to play with ppl your age, so do they.

I'm normally quite alright with kids, as long as they can keep it clean and don't shout all the time then that's fine by me.
