Hello I am a 13 year old gamer and I play Destiny. When I join someone or go on raids I am Called "Squeaker".
I am apparently someone to laugh at and abuse for being 2 years younger then another person. About 1 in 15 people are nice and don't care. When I need help with a Raid I invite people and ask people for help, then I am abused because I am 13 and have a voice that is kind of high.
I play with 6-9 year old's if they need help... most other people just bully them and ruin the experience of Communication on this awesome MMO. I love Destiny it is fascinating and enjoyable... but about 70% of the community are bullies towards "Little Kids". If you don't want to play with someone because they have a voice that you absolutely can't stand, don't be a Bully just say "Sorry I really don't want to do this... I want to do other things" as appose to hurting feelings and being a dick.
You were a kid once whats wrong with it?
If they are screaming in the microphone and being really Annoying then give them a chance tell them your gonna kick them if they keep going, then if they keep going don't retaliate just be chill and say "Hey you had your warning... sorry your being kicked".
The thread is about people being bullies after they say a few words in a high voice. Also if they try to be funny don't laugh and say that wasn't really that funny try something else. About 4 years ago I got Xbox with COD and I did these things to so I can understand why people gave them this reputation. I feel it should be changed a little bit. Fighting fire with fire never works out it's just a waste of time.
If this is changed I would think Destiny would be more inviting and people under 14 would enjoy it a lot more!
Also shut up about ratings. Look at the movies people sneak in all the time your not gonna stop anything.
In Australia you are allowed to play it so you can't say crap about kids from Aussie. Think of something without involving ratings or do you need to rely on them?
Australia has different spelling and grammar and I am 13 get off my case.
You need to translate it to real life. I'm 34. I wouldn't play cards with a 13 year old. I wouldn't play soccer with a 13 year old. I wouldn't go get coffee and chat with a 13 year old. Do you see the trend? It's not a personal thing, it's just not done. Age groups tend to congregate together throughout life, it's a normal human thing. Why you're treated disrespectfully is a different story. There is no excuse. But, generally the type of person who is into games like this is not strong in social graces. I say this with sincerity and without rancor. You would do better not playing this game for that reason. We treat each other poorly here, and on other games like this. Always have, and always will. This isn't where you want to be learning what's ok and not ok to say to people, otherwise you'll be stuck like most of these guys, playing this game for 100 of hours when you could actually be doing something constructive and social. Like dating, or a legitimate hobby. Stick to local multi-player, where you have to at least share space with your friends.

All squeakers deserve lifetime bans
-
I can deal with 1, maybe 2. Had to leave a group of 5 squeakers a few weeks ago after developing a headache after about 30 seconds. Age restrictions should matter though. You might not understand the consequences of having people under the age restrictions. Unfortunately it's the case where parents will buy kids a game that they are too young for, kid shoots people and the game is blamed for being violent when the parent is the one at fault. Also it affects learning curves when kids (or I guess anyone really and that also goes for my last point but people pay more attention when it's kids), complain everything is too hard or whatever, so the difficulty gets nerfed and becomes boring for other people.

Edited by Big Schwifty: 10/28/2015 12:57:58 PMI dont pick on kids. If they are overly irritating, they get booted. No reason to make a kid feel like shit, just for being a kid. My main issue with "squeakers" is that 9 out of 10 aren't good players, and 99 out of 100 will not be quiet when my team needs to communicate. That being said, i have one 11 year-old that is welcome to join anytime. He rarely talks, but when he does, he stays focused on the task at hand. Oh, and he's one of the best crucible players ive ever seen.
-
I'm 14 but no one really picks on me because I'm a lot more mature for my age then most kids and I have a pretty deep voice. Guys I play with think I'm 16-21 years old so I never get called squeaker.
-
get rekt scrub.
-
I don't care how old people are as long as they can play the game
-
About 70% of the "adults" that are suppose to be mature are more immature than all the kids on destiny. Humanity is f*cked with all these annoying ass adults being immature. And by adults it's usually people 18-21.
-
Just as long as you acknowledge the fact that most of the time, you don't know better
-
A 6 year old playing destiny. Wtf)
-
I honestly don't care about age, as long as you are good and take mic use semi-seriously you're always welcome in my fireteam.
-
Kool story bro but no one cares
Because you are a squeaker kek
-
I don't care if someone's a sqeaker, unless it physically hurts my ears. Then I ask them to be a little quieter.
-
The reason younger kids get kicked more than others is because it's really awkward talking to someone less than half your age and having to control your swearing around them
-
I once ran into a 40 year old who kept calling me a gay squeaking scrub and that I should kill myself..... I was acting way more mature than him...... I'm 12

The following applies to both online and IRL social interaction: I am 18. I HATE 90% of people my age or younger. The generation I was born in is a total disgrace to humanity as a whole, and I am ashamed to be a part of it. I prefer to hang out with people much older than me, because most of them aren't total idiots. When I come across one that is a total idiot, I boot them, too. I don't care how old you are, I just don't talk to idiots. However, the discrimination against kids online usually doesn't have anything to do with that. There are a few crappy excuses that are often thrown around. Voice? Age has nothing to do with that. My voice sucks. Maturity? I've met a select few people who are younger than me, but much more mature. Rare, but possible. Volume? Literally the easiest thing to fix. Talk more quietly. This fix works for all ages. Tl;Dr - Just -blam!-ing read it. It isn't hard.
-
I feel bad for you I'm the same age as you and I get mistaken as like 15 and above
-
Then stop breaking my head sets you pricks yell for like 10 minutes for not getting the sniper👿
-
I stopped reading when I got to where he used "then" instead of "than".
-
Be a buddy not a bully lol
-
Solution: wait till your balls drop.
-
Try screaming for 5 min straight about getting a fate bringer and watch everyone slowly sneaking out of the raid one by one. True story.
-
I'm lucky, I'm your age but have the voice of a 15 year old. I feel bad for you
-
Am I the only one who feels a little bit seedy talking to minors on the Internet? I always feel like it's a bit odd being a guy in his mid 20's running a mission/strike/raid with a group of U-18s. I feel like that guy who always hang out at skate parks with people 10 years younger than him haha
-
the game is for 16+ years old players in my country so yes I'd kick you out have a nice day
-
You must remember, the destiny community is the biggest piece of shit I've seen so far. It's not Bungie's fault, but it is people's own fault. Elitists everywhere who claim they are to good to help lower levels when actually, they're to shit to be able to do so. Everyone you talk to is either nice or a massive egotistical -blam!-. Each day I meet someone who eventually tells me to kill myself for no reason and it -blam!-ing sucks. I'm happy to play with 'squeakers' because they don't have the same attitude as people who claim to be more 'mature'. I don't think I even know what that word means anymore thanks to this community....
