Currently the input only allows you to post a link to an image, but if you have one saved somewhere it's an annoying extra step to have to go to another site and upload one, possibly having to sign up as well.
It would be extremely useful to be able to select an image from my computer while writing up a post (or even just drag and drop it!) and have it automatically uploaded and placed into the post.

Snipping Tool + Imgur Ctrl+V upload. Takes like 20 seconds tops. Sorry for the Necrobumping I was browsing the 3 threads with the #imgur tag.

I'm a big imgur user already anyway. it would be really cool if their service could be integrated into the site.

I'm sure all the redditors use imgur anyways.

Wow, I didn't know Imgur could do this. Who would disagree with a easy to use upload feature?

Edited by Malfar: 1/14/2013 4:51:42 AMSounds like you just came up with a million dollar idea. Create and app, and a web service where you can just drag and drop an image, text file, or whatever and it uploads the file and instantly gives you a url to use... But for obvious reasons I don't think they would, it takes up too many resources to store and serve the images.

I agree +1

I support the idea. Though I'd rather be able to keep track of all pictures I upload.
