[spoiler]My grandfather had a kenjutsu book he gave me, never actually got into the art but I learned a few tricks... Partial reasoning behind my general usage of Iaido, the striking and drawing of the blade in one move.[/spoiler]
Another weakness of the katana is its versatility. The curved structure provides for better cutting power, yes, but overall heft and stabbing power are somewhat low compared to others (English longsword, bastard sword) which is why I rely on my fire to make up for the lack of power, as I mostly use quick draw cuts or slashes and leave the rest to the fire. Like I said, it's important to note your own weaknesses before you note your strengths.
