Just reduce it's regen rate and it becomes an exotic more worthy of being called an exotic. Aside from full auto and a quick fire rate, Invective isn't especially useful...I would use FV, Felwinter's lie or Two to the Morgue before Invective. But if special ammo was limited, Invective's ammo regen perk would make it truly exotic.

True, but then it would be an extremely OP weapon in the crucible if you didn't have to constantly pick up ammo boxes, but I do agree with you about Felwinters Lie and Two to the Morgue

So long as the regen wasn't too fast, it probably wouldn't be gamebreaking. The range isn't too far, so at least you can dodge it. I agree though, that if the current regen rate were used it would quickly turn into the only shotgun used in Crucible (same thing with Icebreaker if current regen rates stayed the same).
