Need Scout Rifle Tips

Ok so in the crucible I can do well with hand cannons, pulse rifles, and auto rifles, the moment I try and use a scout rifle though, I lose my mojo. I LOVE semi automatics in any fps, but to me the scout rifles of Destiny feel very clunky. Most semi automatics in games either are low fire rate/high damage or high fire rate/medium damage. Destiny's scout rifles are all around just "meh" feeling to me. They aren't quite compact sniper rifles but they're also not quite BF4's QBU-88 or MK11. I know to stay at longer ranges with them but they still feel bland and not as effective as they should be. Any tips or feedback is appreciated.

  • When I first started playing I used hand canons constantly. After playing a lot of PvE I would wander into the crucible and do well with my hand canon (I was one of those poor souls who used the thorn before the buff). I switched to scout rifles in PvE now because I started to really like them but when I found myself back in the crucible I took out a hand canon and realized I was doing awful. The point I'm trying to make is that PvE is a great place to practice with your new weapon type; learning through experience on how to take out close targets or lead moving ones. Once you go into the crucible the only problem you'll have is dealing with the opponents skill and knowledge of the map, getting the kill won't be the hard part
