So...I stumbled across a chrome extension called the Destiny Item Manager. This thing is awesome! It allows you to get a real time view of every weapon, armor piece, shader, sparrow, etc.. across all three of your characters and the vault. It shows what you currently have equipped and what is not equipped. Here is where it gets really good. I can take a weapon from my warlock and equip it straight to my titan with the click of a button. No transferring to the vault then pulling to the character. One click and I am done. It gets even better. You can create custom load outs and use them and it moves the items where they need to be and equips them! This extension is amazing and needs to be known!
P.S. Make sure you log into the bungie website before you open the extension or it gets stuck on a loading screen :)
TL;DR: Great new chrome extension that lets you move items between characters faster...and even create and use custom loadouts!
Found this on Reddit, thought I'd share with you guys! It's amazing.

Update:
Kotaku have reviewed the app.
It's using Bungie's API.
For those of you that don't know what that means, there's nothing this can do that the official Companion app can't. What it's doing is the exact same as the companion app except it's providing a much, much better interface for it.
Noone has ever lost weapons or armour using the app, it's actually completely impossible to do so, because Bungie controls what data it can/can't use. For the same reason it's not possible to duplicate items, or delete them, as the API/Companion app doesn't let you.
The programmer has this to say on the matter -
“Let me just say that over the past five months, I’ve probably moved more gear through DIM than anyone else in the process of building this app. I have never lost an item. DIM can’t do anything that the Bungie.net website or the official companion app can’t do—most importantly dismantling items. There is currently no possible way to do that outside of the game itself.”
Even Bungie employees use it.
We’ve heard from individuals that work at Bungie, and they tell us that they use DIM and really enjoy it.
I use DIM, and find it extremely useful. You can build loadouts, transfer items across characters, and even change equipped gear. Drawback is that you must have at least one free slot of each type in vault to function properly. Also, you need to move all items of a specific type, you cannot choose how many - for example, if you have 13 heavy ammo synth, you need to move all of them.
-
It's really just for swapping out weapons quickly. There's not much info available in DIM though. So no, I wouldn't say it's better at everything. Just for swapping items.
-
Is it only for chrome?
-
Better no, faster for on the fly swapping, yes
-
WTF my icon for destiny item manager has disappeared
-
Where have you been?
-
Look good, would love to use it, but everytime I do it says network error. Anyway to fix that?
-
I been using this for months and i love it. I always play with my laptop very close to me and weapons are literally 2 mouse clicks away. Its great for condensing materials. I havnt use companion app since i got it. Never lost anything either.
-
Is this browser add-on available on Firefox, or is it only usable with Chrome?
-
I've been using it for the past two months and I gotta say this thing is much more fluid than destiny's actual app. I haven't had any trouble whatsoever so if you are worried due to it being a 3rd party app there really is no reason to!
-
Yep it's gold!!
-
Just checked it out and it works like a charm. I assume it won't work with chrome on your smart phone huh? What I like most about the app is being able to switch in and out weapons among my three characters, whilst staying put. With this extension, it works great if one has access to a computer/laptop where they game. I don't, since my computer is in another room.

I use an app called tower ghost does a very similar thing and you can create different load outs for different activities
-
Needs to be an app for this
-
It's awesome, have it open on my laptop beside me every time I play.
-
It's the only thing I use!
-
I just downloaded it, can't wait to try it out!
-
Lol i thought destiny was a game! Stuff like this is why games aren't fun no more
-
Only just seen this. Would not trust it at all.
-
No, not using a 3rd party extension for a game service ever. would not trust it to not foul up the account or the game in some way.
-
Reply for later please
-
This sounds like a great idea but also extremely sketchy
-
Reply pls

It's so useful
-
Not worth the risk

Third party app. User beware. If something goes wrong, you're up shit creek. Then everyone will point and laugh.
