What do you mean?
-
I mean that there are plenty of moons in our solar system. And like all those other moons, our moon actually has a name, despite it commonly being referred to as "The Moon".

Sir you are right and wrong at the same time. The term moon is use by scientist because the vast majority of people are dumb and if the would say satellites instead of moons they would think of machines not understanding the the proper name for the moon is a satellite. Our moon has no given name so it is our moon. But you're right that they are all moons. But they are actually satellites

Edited by GoldenArms27: 3/12/2015 1:23:02 AMYea, I'm well aware of the term satellite, it's origins, and it's myriad uses. And that doesn't make me wrong. The celestial bodies orbiting the planets in our solar system are indeed satellites, but since that isn't the term's only usage, they are referred to as moons. So, like I said, still not wrong. Right, though, that I am. If you want to have a right/wrong contest, though, you're already down a point, because our moon DOES have a given name, Luna, as our sun is named Sol. Good try though!
