Motorcycle guys here?

Gotta have some enthusiasts of the two wheeled sport on here. Had a 2005 Aprilia RSVR till 2 summers ago. Sold it to move on to a nice cruiser. Probably a BMW is in my near future. Wife is pushing for me to get one soon.

  • First bike was a 96 Kawasaki Eliminator, loved but had to sell it a few years ago to move out west. When I was ready to replace it I found a 07 Suzuki M109 L.E. and haven't looked back.

  • Three bikes by 16. Have 9 now. My favorites are definitely my Buell xb12s and this new parts 49' Indian I got when I was 17.

  • My first one was a hand-me-down. Still loved that beauty though. 1982 Yamaha seca 400. Every once I'm a while I go back to it for a fun ride.

  • My first motorcycle I bought new was a Ducati Monster, but injuries, not from riding, forced me to sell it. Now I ride a Victory Vegas and my wife rides a Suzuki Boulevard. I am eyeing the new Ducati Scrambler.

    • 2014 Ducati Monster 696 It's a smooth ride with enough power for my riding style. It by no means pulls like a sport bike but it does handle really well. I've tried to get the wife to ride on it and I always get that look "hell no".

    • 2009 Yamaha T-Max, 500cc Super-Scooter. One of the best commuting bikes I have ever had. Handling like a sport bike, smooth as silk with the CVT transmission. Also has enough storage under the seat for my lunch and helmet!

    • 2010 Fatboy Lo flat black, all stock except for Vance & Hines big radius pipes. A word of advice for any guys thinking about getting a HD Sportster...think twice. My first HD was a Sportster. Shortly after having it I regretted not getting a "real" HD. It was way too small, top heavy, has a much less resale value as compared to a full-sized HD, and I even got crap from girls about it being a girl bike. ha ha Long ago, before my first HD, I was told to get a Sportster for my first HD to learn to ride a "big bike", and that they are easier to ride. After riding a real hog I couldn't disagree more. The full-sized bikes are so much easier to ride, despite that they have a much higher total overall weight. Just a couple things to consider for those new to HD's.

    • 2003 Moto Guzzi V11 Cafe Sport. I've done several 2,000+ mile trips on it in the last 10 years and couldn't be happier with it.

    • I had a measly 05 GSXR600 but sold it when I got married after deciding it was a good idea to do 180mph down the toll way at 3AM (we all know that means she made me). So I bought a project car instead. Really starting to get that itch again though. I've been thinking about picking up a used victory 8ball or maybe the Honda Furry, looks cool but don't know how comfy they are. If I get another it will have to be a cruiserish bike due to my bad back now.

      • I'd kill myself with a motorcycle. I'm not being melodramatic, either. I used to own a 2000 Trans Am WS-6 that I turned into a road race car. Stripped, caged, modded engine, suspension, brakes, etc. Built it in my own 2-car garage (usually with a Honda Pilot sitting so close I had to worry about weld spatter!) and eventually won the 2008-9 Louisiana GT2 championship with it. Sold that, and bought a 2-cycle race kart (KT-100). Only put out around 18hp, but would easily top 80mph on longer straights. And, co-drove an ICC shifter kart (125cc motor, 6-speed sequential gearbox, 44hp). Won or podiumed every race I finished over a 2-year period (got knocked off track quite a bit by newer drivers). Got in a big wreck, totaled my kart (broken frame, broken seat, busted clutch, bent axle, etc.). Repaired it and sold it. If I got a crotch rocket, I know I'd be going mach 3 with my hair on fire (to quote Top Gun).

        • 2009 HD Nightster myself and will never get rid of it. Its the most fun bike I ever owned. Looking to get a Road King or Gold Wing in the near future for long distance. Took a riding course through a HD dealership and learned a lot!!! Highly recommend it and they provide the bike for the course. You might find me on the Natchez Trace or US 129 Dragon.
