And only for the New 3Ds.
I'm seriously impressed they managed to fit such a MASSIVE game on a handheld.

I don't think they cut anything. The visuals were very (and I mean VERY) slightly downgraded and some of the UI has been tweaked. Otherwise it's a straight port.
