3/12/2015 News Update Feedback

Regarding the news update that just came out: https://www.bungie.net/7_Bungie-Weekly-Update---03122015/en/News/News?aid=12657 You mentioned the new features to be released in this 1.1.2 update are at the mercy of triage, well, let me be the first to say this: The first item on your list, Vault Space is ABSOLUTELY the number one priority... If this were a hospital, and this game was your patient, then the Vault Space would be the gushing artery flowing all over the floor. This is the number one top concern of every player I've spoken with. This needs to be addressed FIRST. Please see the many, many posts in the forums about this. Make it your number 1 priority for this upcoming patch. Please. You've spent plenty enough time on the raid glitches, they can wait. You've spent plenty enough time on PVP, it can wait. The fact that people aren't playing the strikes, may very well have to do with no space in the vault. That can wait. The game looks and sounds fine, it can wait. Fix the vault space. It's by far the most ugent issue. I can't go on about this enough. Thank you! https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/87629716/0/0 https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/80456128/0/0 https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/104857586/0/0 https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/104645685/0/0 https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/105646720/0/0 https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/82247252/0/0 https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/100321841/0/0 https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/108401865/0/0 https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/108345750/0/0 https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/107870352/0/0 https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/107674912/0/0 https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/107767413/0/0 ...Need I go on? :) There are dozens more just like these... EDIT: And while you're preparing the vault space increase, and the 1.1.2 update. Please give us some USEFUL information about the vault space increase. For six months now we've heard nothing but "We hear you, we know you want more vault space, be patient", but we haven't heard anything new since then. Just the same old song and dance. Can we please have some actual useful information from now on? WHEN will it be increased? HOW will it be increased? WHY wasn't this addressed sooner? Will there be a COST associated with the increase? Will it be in-game materials, or *gulp* micro transactions? (For the love of God, NO!) Give us some DETAILS about what you're working on, while we wait for this fading miracle.

Here's my feedback for those at Bungie reading: Thank you to DeeJ for the update. I'm really glad to see the issues on the agenda for 1.1.2. BTW, to the OP in this thread, the title says 3/12/2015; it's actually 3/13/2015 -- not to be pedantic, just a heads up. Vault Space I totally agree with the OP, and so I'm glad to see that updating vault space is at the top of the list on the agenda. It's the highest priority by far in terms of user demand; it's definitely the '#1 Most Wanted' update. To compound that, in DeeJ's recent thread asking people to post the top 3 things they believe to be the biggest issues, I even went to the effort of tallying up 3 pages worth of votes, and the projections from that were that Vault Space was easily the number one issue - I didn't have time to do hundreds of pages worth unfortunately but I did read through quickly and it's fairly obvious vault space is #1. The only thing I'd add to that, is if it's possible, please make the vault nigh unlimited so it's never an issue in future. Strikes Feedback The reason that people complete some strikes and leave others is a matter of time vs gains. When I have 2 hours left to play Destiny and I want to make the most of it, I often play Vanguard Roc because I find it's the best way to farm multiple rewards at once. Engrams, experience, glimmer and bounties; my objective is to maximize my gains in all of those and any other areas, with whatever time I have, and the fact is that every time I get The Undying Mind, I leave. I'm willing to bet that it's the '#1 Abandoned Strike' by large, because not only do I leave every time I spawn there, I almost always see other players leave immediately and chuckle about it every time. Why? #1 It takes a relatively long time to complete. Most strikes can be completed in around the 10-15 minute mark. The Undying Mind usually takes at least 20-25, sometimes 30 minutes, depending on who you're playing with. #2 The corridor staircase section mid-way through the strike is a complete and utter waste of time because the Precursors and Praetorians do not reward experience or glimmer for your efforts. I don't know why for sure, but I suspect it's a fix to prevent people farming glimmer there. None the less, I'm not going spend time and effort clearing out a long line of Major Vex when there's absolutely nothing in it for me; which is a shame because that section is actually a lot of fun. My advise would be to fix that section. Don't try to screw us on it. Just throw us a bone on that one and have the Majors reward the player as they would in any other section. It would turn that strike into being the least popular into one of the most popular, as it would actually be a fairly productive way to farm some glimmer with a Blue Polyphage. If you want to prevent people from just farming that spot over and over, modify it so that the set amount of Praetorians and Precursors are still capped but also so that the section isn't a darkness zone. This would mean that people won't be able to just off themselves and start from scratch a la Exclusion Zone. Or, here's a wild idea: don't. What's the big bloody deal with letting the player have some place to efficiently farm glimmer? I read an article recently whereby someone at Bungie pretty much said (and I'm paraphrasing) "we don't want Destiny to be played that way (played in a way where people are just farming one section whether for glimmer or engrams or whatever)." If this is true, it flies right in the face of Destiny's game-play design; whether you want us to or not, players inevitably have to farm glimmer. There's no way around that. It's how you have designed the game. Most glimmer rewards are negligable, so you have to farm it. There's not really any way to do an objective and score 1k worth of glimmer in a reasonable amount of time. You can only get it in small doses from ads and items/dismantles. And of course glimmer is essential to buying consumables for raids and upgrading everything which is tied right into the premise of the game: attaining and upgrading loot. We end up needing glimmer and we end up having to farm it one way or another. By making it more difficult to do so, you are in essence ignoring that it's a necessity, and achieving the complete opposite of your objective, by narrowing down the ways in which we can farm to dramatically less productive options, effectively lengthening the time it takes for us to play the game in a way you ultimately don't want us to play it. You could remove glimmer drops from all ads in strikes period and simply just reward the player a bulk set glimmer reward for strike completion. Make it like 1000 glimmer per completion. It would take me about 3 or so hours to complete 25 Vanguard Roc strikes adn max it out, probably longer. It would probably take about the same amount of time to max glimmer in the Exclusion Zone. This would mean that players are playing the game more in the way you want them to; completing strikes rather than individually farming one cp for hours on end. Try to consider that nobody wants to spend all their time in The Undying Mind or Exclusion Zone; we'd rather be raiding, doing strikes, or some other activity; the only reason we farm such places is because we have no choice; it's either that, or give up on the idea of buying or upgrading stuff for a few weeks.
