I'm going to guess it's because they are so different.
Warlocks rely on Space Magic while Hunters use equipment.
Warlocks lean more towards studying the Traveler while Hunters are out exploring the wastelands.
Etc.
Every time I see this subject brought up I can't help but to imagine a Titan letting out a sigh while Warlock and Hunter shouting match continues over her shoulder.
