You are seriously doing research based on people writing whatever they feel like? I got 3 ghorns btw.

I actually got one yesterday for the nightfall. Look at my 32 Titan!

I'm trying to give people the benefit of the doubt. I don't see a purpose to lying about drops, serves you no purpose. With that being said, I am not naive enough to believe my results are 100% accurate. Just something fun to put together to see, kind of in a big picture way, what tends to be the most common and least common of drops (minus the g-horn haha). I am completely open to suggestions as to how to make this better so feel free to let me know. Thanks!

Have people send you screenshots or 5 second videos. Then you would have legit numbers and we could have a real discussion about drop rates.

Edited by WallaWallas: 3/18/2015 6:57:59 PMThat's great, in theory, but here are a few problems. By forcing people to do that extra step, you risk getting a biased return. How likely are you to take the time to take a screenshot and send it to me when you received 12 Ass Energies? Probably not likely. So for the most part, I would only receive screenshots of exotics and holy grails. Also, there is the question of logistics. Who would enter in all this information? It's only Wednesday, and there already over 5000 submissions into the poll. Fortunately, or unfortunately, I am a Structural Engineer (bridge desgin) by trade, and don't have the luxury of time to enter all of those things myself. Now I have reached out to Deej asking if nightfall drops is something they track (they seem to track everything else that happens in the game so why not?). I haven't heard back yet, but I messaged him yesterday. Doubt I'll ever hear back, but if this thing gets enough attention on Reddit, Bungie.net, and elsewhere, who knows?

Your post is just as biased. Are people more likely to post that got "12 energies seriously bungie?" or that they got a mediocre legendary? Plus the fact that you don't know if they even actually got that.

Edited by PuckJunkieJames: 3/18/2015 6:55:21 PMDear God, man, the poll has over five thousand responses. How many videos or screenshots would it take to make any real assumptions about drop rates? How long would it take to watch and record the results of that many 5-second videos? The results so far more or less fit my expectation: - 20% of reported drops are ascendant materials - 13% are strange coins - 29% are legendary weapons - 4% are legendary engrams - 19% are exotic weapons - 14% are exotic armor I wouldn't bet my life on the accuracy of these numbers, but it's an interesting discussion point. Sort of. If you've done 3 nightfalls every week for a few months, this probably fits with what you already knew anyway.

Thanks man! Exactly what I hoped people would get from this.
