It is a Sony Microsoft problem. Neither one wants people with little motivation to buy the new one. Your friend upgraded? They want you to upgrade too, to keep playing with them. Buy now, so they can show publishers how many new boxes they are selling, to make more games for the new systems. If boxes aren't selling, publishers will cling on to the old boxes and convince studios to keep developing for the last gen because gamers are still using them.

Of course they want you to upgrade but DC universe online, a Sony game product, is cross gen.... Destiny wouldn't be a problem. They want you play only next gen games on next gen consoles. Since Destiny is on both it wouldn't matter. It's only their problem is all the sudden they say "oh destiny is only last gen now" so then people downgrade. But since that's not gonna happen.... It's not a problem
