I think it's fine. I have a Felwinter's Lie but I normally use Secret Handshake for the higher ROF.
You're right, if you miss that first shot with Felwinter's Lie and the other guy has half a clue, you're probably gonna die.

Yep. I don't use shotguns that much but am much more comfortable with a fast fire rate. I'm thinking about buying the Vanguard shotgun but need to do some research first to see if it's considered good or not.

I really like it. Holds six rounds, and the one you can buy from the Vanguard has shot package and hammer forged on it. It doesn't get the consistent one hit kills like Felwinter's Lie does, but I feel that it more than makes up for that with the higher ROF, being able to get a second follow up shot fast if the first shot doesn't kill them.
