1 The names of your subclasses are inconsistent with Bungie's existing pattern.
2 Adding "pets" (Player enforced NPCs) will ruin the PvP game.
Some great ideas dude! I want you to challenge your ideas a little more!

Edited by Legend of Jordy: 3/24/2015 12:55:08 AMThey are? How so? They all end with ER, They all start with a different letter (Except Soldier starts with an S and so does Striker but I had to for originality purposes) And... They fit the play style of the subclass. Soldier (One word) Packleader (Compound word, first word something weaponizable, second word a fluent motion which I failed) Aeonbreaker (Compound word, first word the element, second word a verb) ... Think I pretty much nailed it. I did compromise certain rules for a good overall feel. Aeon means power of gods which is a rough synonym for thunder or arc. Packleader sounded cool and fit the subclass role I was going for. Plus Aeonbreaker sounds way cooler than Ionbreaker or Windbreaker. ----- Plus+ Ghost is not a pet. It's about the same thing as giving Golden Gun a damage over time effect instead of an instant kill effect.

I'm not trashing your ideas by the way! Just the names lol

Strike/defend/ soldier? Gun/blade/ pack? Slinger/dancer/ leader? The warlock one is on point! My idea for the titan ult is very similar to yours!

Edited by Legend of Jordy: 3/24/2015 4:24:27 AMWarning: A whole lot of reading ----- Yeah, soldier doesn't fit in very well with the others. I chose it because it fit extremely well with the role I was aiming for, something that wasn't close to Striker or Defender. I could have done Raider but it felt too dark, Reclaimer would have been preferred but has Halo written all over it. ----- Titan Here's a list of Titan names I could have done: Crusader (Taken) Raider (Probly used by someone else) Attacker (Same meaning as Striker) Fighter (I used this subclass name elsewhere) Destroyer (Used this elsewhere too, super boss) Slayer (Reserved for later, super awesome) Reclaimer (Totally Halo) Forerunner (Running out of ideas already) Hunter Gun/Blade/Net Gun/Blade/Trap Gun/Blade/What's not a gun and a blade... Then I was like, well it's a support so why not... Packleader! That's it, straight to the point. Most of the hunter names I could come up with were too long since they had to be a compound name. So, Packleader in my mind is the perfect name for my Void Hunter subclass. Warlock Aeonbreaker was me trying to make a Arc Warlock sound cool instead of using a name like Arcthrower. Stormchaser was one of those names that fits the idea of a basic arc warlock well but I couldn't have a bunch of S starting names. Plus it didn't match the role I was trying to fill. ----- So yeah, I would have made changes in some of the names except I can't modify the poll. I spent weeks upon weeks coming up with names for the subclasses. And this is the best I could ever do without reusing names already made through the community. If you have other names I would love to hear them, just know I can't change them.

So you came up with the abilities before the names, that makes more sense! I wouldn't leave out any idea because they were used, you could expand on them. Bungie doesn't really have to make 1 thing of each class. For all we know, Bungie may create another DPS class for Hunters, Warlocks could get another support, and Titans could have another tanky one. Take for instance WoW: Rogues, Warlocks, and Mages have 3 "subclasses" within them that are all DPS. Priests have 2 heals and 1 dps. To help you define what is already done in the game... Nova bomb is not long range, it can shoot far, but is really only meant to be shot 30' or closer. Radiance isn't really long/medium range either, it fills a tank/support/DPS role depending on your choice of perk. You can chuck grenades far in PvE, in PvP you want to stay within fusion rifle/shotgun range. Hunters are meant to be kind of loners, it's in their lore. So a support role would probably have to come with selfish perks as well. I think a tanky hunter would be cool, but not likely. It's very likely that they have a super that uses a weapon, a lot like golden gun and arc blade. like a void net/trap/pike/trident/bow/etc. I had a cool idea for the Titan super that's similar to yours mentioned. I imagine summoning a flaming/or solar sword from above (like gunslinger) and having a certain amount of time to slam it on the ground (with R). Slamming it will unleash a swift, flaming wall that swiftly (almost instantly) creates a wall of flames up until it hits a wall. It will kill anyone caught in the initial burst (not a very wide wall, so not that OP). The wall stays for a certain amount of time, and it's effects are dependent upon perks. Perks could be 1. Damages enemies over time who pass through it. 2. gives allies who pass through an agility buff. 3. the wall is wider, but lacks after effects (more aoe for initial burst). This could create a medium/long ranged Titan :) I don't feel too much Halo when you mention "reclaimer." I think that's a super solid idea. Crusader has to be my favorite, and i know i've heard it before. I see where you got "pack." Since Hunters seem like they would have a relationship with nature. They aren't, however, leaders from the lore ): Keep adding ideas, think of more things! Try imagining if Bungie didn't go with the "missing" element type, and made 2 solar locks, etc. That could bring in more ideas!

Edited by Legend of Jordy: 3/24/2015 6:03:19 PMWell, it's times like Nightfall where I realize my Hunter doesn't contribute to the team very well on Void Burn, but thank you. The flaming sword idea sounds much better than the other flaming sword ideas I've heard. I classified any super that reaches further distances than basic FoH a ranged super, Defender and Sunsinger were tagged support as they have support capabilities, defender is a true support, Sunsinger is like a cough out of a support class. I figured Bladedancer didn't fit the support role well enough and marked it a close ranged super. I had to generalize to make a pattern, because really, there is none. Whoever designed the existing subclasses definitely didn't have a third on mind. It says in the patterns, it definitely says in the grenades. Players need it though, so let's hope they get on making a third subclass.
