Raiding with Brits

British people have got to be the most fun people to raid with. I mean, how can you not have a good time with their accents?.

  • Hey, I'm Scottish, so my accent is different to the typical British accent. You realise Britain doesn't consist of just England right? There's Scotland, England, Ireland and Wales. So yeah just saying....

nothing against brits, but I've had way more fun with Aussies. and I can understand more of what they are saying. I like it when I hear 'no worries mate' in that carefree tone if someone dies.

        • I think my best experience was one of my first VOG runs and everyone was different nationalities and it was so cool. There was me, the Brit, then a Mexican, an American, an aus (guess he couldn't sleep lol), a cheery Irish man and then a mic-less person. It was so cool to see the different personalities all playing together in HARMONY gawd. No one was raging or anything

          • This thread makes me smile. Coming from a Brit that often LFG raids with Americans at night. Nearly always a good time.

              • The one kind of person that I generally enjoy raiding with is people from the south, in America that is. I do like that southern charm.

                • I like raiding with just about everyone as long as they're respectful. I will say the toughest raid I pugged was with a few Irish guys. They were speaking English, but how they speak English. I couldn't understand half of what they were saying, so I didn't talk unless spoken to. Luckily I had enough raid completions under my belt at the time to know what to do without talking much.

I have a few friends in Europe, but they don't play Destiny. however, IN destiny, my experience with British players is annoying. I'm not going to say its all British people, but the ones I have run across usually are bossy mid/late teens who feel the need to dictate the raid no matter if your raid count is higher than theirs or not. they treat the rest of the raiders as noobs and direct everything done... once, the kid told me to do what I was already doing. when I advised him of his waste of words, he acted like I had acted on his instruction and proceeded to congratulate me..... Like I said, I know some very cool British people, but every time I hear that accent, I cringe.

I love raiding with Americans they are so laid back and like a laugh. Friendly bunch of people that are easy to get along with and they can play well. Some accents are a bit hard to understand but mostly ok.

                  • The Dutch are my favourite to raid with they are always so laid back. Whenever I'm looking to raid and I see someone with NL in their name I'll add them. A lot of my friends list are Dutch, they're cool guys. Every now and again I end up with an American that is funny as well, did crota the other day with some american (called Cuban-something, strangely) and he had me in stitches the whole raid. Must have called everyone a cocksucker 20+ times

                  • Seriously was just saying this! It goes beyond the accent for me, I just find people from that culture to be far less noisy/irritating. The witty banter is always appreciated.
