The part that make me curious is that it just shows little thumbnails in the Vault screen. You only see a rendered weapon when you hover over it for the pop-up. So it would be too memory-intensive to show double the number of little thumbnails? Am I missing something?

  • Could be that they are preloading the cache of information on the item into the screen, instead of fetching in when it is hovered over. This would increase performance to the enduser, but cause the constraint with memory.

  • Um sure. Whatever you say. Lol. I'm not a programming guy. It just struck me as odd that they were talking about memory constraints over a bunch thumbnails. I do figure they had their reasons.

  • We're all still missing something. Bungie is being very guarded about what type of information they release.

Well, what truly irks me is that this is only a stop-gap measure. It's just enough weapon slots that a person with could keep one of each exotic, and current raid and current banner weapon. Armor storage space has never been an issue for me and I only needed a couple extra general slots anyway. But then if they add more weapons with the all-but-guaranteed "comet" expansion, the Vault space issue will rear its ugly head again. But then again, if the supposed "reef social space" does show up with House of Wolves and does have a separate Vault of its own, then we'd have more than a enough space for whatever. Provided we can use the improved functionality of the companion app to quickly transfer items from one Vault to the other. (Sorry Windows mobile people. You chose poorly. :P) I just wish they'd not be quite so tight-lipped. It just leaves people free to assume the worst. Bad policy, in my opinion.
