There's really not much too elaborate here. Too often whenever I play a ROC strike, there's at least one person not playing the game and expecting everyone else to carry him.
I can understand having to take a quick bathroom break or something, but when you're gone for over five minutes, then you're a detriment to the team. By that point, I'd rather you leave and let someone who'll actually help out take your place. I don't care if something comes up in real life or if there's an emergency; if that's the case, then turn off your damn console.
Like in Left 4 Dead, there should be a vote to kick option. The rest of the team shouldn't have to deal with someone who doesn't help out at all. Is such a system prone to abuse? Sure, but I think the benefits outweigh the cons.
-
Improving your idea here: 1. The option only appears if player is Afk for 5minutes 2. Both others have to vote 3. Give us an option to play an airhorn-like noise through their tv x20 times louder than their tv volume...we'll see if that gets them moving
-
I would love for this to happen. I don't see it happening, because it will easily be abused by moody emo 16yr olds as the end of the strikes just for griefing purposes, they blame the world on their miserable attitude.

I had an idea for this. Most people say that if they go for 5 minutes without entering a darkness zone they should be kicked. That won't work though because some of these people are determined enough not to put any effort in that they would wait til the first darkness zone is clear of enemies before sitting down in it. What I think should happen, is if they don't kill something in a darkness zone for x amount of minutes, they should be returned to orbit. Since enemies don't respawn in darkness zones after the area is clear, this means everyone needs to keep the pace and actually run through the entire mission. Not sure if that's been brought up before or not, but I think it would work a lot better than the current system for afk boots.
-
Only if they're inactive for a minute.
-
I melee them until they move or push them in a position that will make them die. Once you make it clear their free ride isnt here, they are going to think it is a waste of time and leave. Some finally play but make sure they dont stop again. If they do back to the melee spree.

Because the "vote to kick" option worked soooo well in Left 4 Dead. /sarcasm I would rather not get paired up with a group of two friends who would wait until the final boss is almost dead then kick me.
-
Vote to kick would be abused by a holes. What would probably work better is an auto kick if players have not gotten kills in x amount of time, are x distance from the other players. Something like that.
-
Well, there is a KTO timer, unfortunately it only ends when a controller auto-shuts off, which takes a while.
-
I think there is an autokick feature but it doesn't seem to kick in unless an idler has been reported for inactivity first. Either that or all the excessive idlers I've run into just coincidently leave of their own accord soon after being reported.
-
A vote to kick after 1:30 seconds or a little more or afk. Yes.
-
Can i get a hoooyaaee

Edited by RoseScythe: 3/31/2015 12:55:42 AMBungie need to implement a system where if you AFK during any activity, you forfeit any loot you'd otherwise receive. I played atleast a dozen Roc strikes yesterday and was astounded at the amount of players that refused to contribute.
-
Just auto kick if a player trails by more than 3 minutes getting into a Darkness zone. Vote to kick will be horribly abused...
-
Sometime in the future... Trolls are a big problem in strikes. Can we remove the kicking option?
-
I have found that most of the people that do this are working on bounties to complete strikes without dying so I have found that if you just wipe in the first darkness area you come to they leave most of the time, if they don't keep pushing them into the line of fire.
-
Never really had this problem. Guess I've been lucky with match making
-
ive never had a problem with anyone going afk during a weekly heroic. i dont see why its such a problem
-
Want to have fun? Melee them towards mobs and have them constantly die. Had someone Afk in the devils lair just before dinklebot opens the door. I used my warlocks scorch melee knockback perk to push him all the way to the devil walker and placed myself in a hidden area. Devil walker kept blowing him up and sending him flying and I kept reviving. It was hilarious. My afker left after 20 minutes and I continued to finish my strike.

Edited by Puppybutt: 3/31/2015 1:39:47 AMNever, will this happen as people will abuse this. Just look at an awesome Valve game gone to waste. http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/960511-left-4-dead-2/61630585

I've never noticed if someone is afk. I just go ahead with the strike. Sometimes I'll realize I'm the only one fighting the Boss but not sure if the others went back to orbit or are still standing at the beginning. Don't really care either. I'm not there to help them complete a strike as much as I am there to complete a strike for me.
-
I've been in a strike with 2 AFKers, and I reported them, then left. The game then matched me with them again. So I decided to get my sparrow and run them down because I remembered there was a Walking Tall bounty up at the time. I then get multiple messages from them both, whinging that I ruined their strike.
-
Just need a timeout counter
-
Any of the strike playlists aren't hard. Just complete them and whining.
-
What roc strike do you need more than two people one..... Most only need one.
