Chief is 6 years old when kidnapped by Halsey, a 12 year old John knocks out kids 5 years older than him in a boxing ring before vanishing. 6 year gap with the reporter during these weekly recordings stating John was registered as "deceased" at 6. What the fudge...
They've basically made us rethink the old lore, revisit it. It wasn't a simple swap of a clone for John and have the clone fall ill and die to cover tracks, somehow "John" was boxing in a ring at 12 when all the while the real John was training with the other kids with Mednez.
It seems ONI has been playing Halsey this whole time. But for what?

I'm think that the whole thing was a lie, since the reporter guy said that most of his contacts were given to him through ONI. I'm guessing that ONI is trying to keep the Spartan-II program a secret because they don't want it getting out that the spartans were kidnapped and pretty much tortured into war machines. By torture, I mean that they had to go through augmentation. Or maybe John would just escape Dr. Halsey on practice days, and when he stopped showing up was when the physical augmentation began?

I suppose this could be true but what would the motive be to blast Halsey and keep her low on the proverbial totem poll post Human-Covenant war [i]and[/i] wanting to keep the Spartan II project process a secret? I mean, the cover up was already in place with Johns clone dead, why the potentially second clone?

I believe the boxing deal may have been a planted source- a cover-up against the public?

Question is, if ONI knew Halsey kidnapped children, why make it a big deal after the covenant war? I mean, I know Margret (I think that's her name, the head of ONI), really hates Halsey but how can all this be because of spite? Why plant another clone (the one who boxed in the ring at age 12)?

im convinced that its a fabricated story, serin osman is the new head of oni and she already has palmer trying to kill halsey, the reason for the cover up is because oni already went public with some parts of the spartan ii program and they cant afford to let the public find out that they ran off with 75 six year old children to make supersoldiers, they cant afford that because right behind that mystery is the hundreds of other children they kidnapped to make the spartan iii's, they are just desperately trying to cover their asses since things like that are how governments are uprooted

Halsey is indeed a loose end, but I don't see why the need to eliminate her. Halsey was not going public with any of that sensitive material. And even if they wanted to tie loose ends, why go after Master Chief?

Edited by tmkilla: 4/7/2015 2:46:13 PMgoing after chief is their contingency plan i believe since hes awol right now and theyre going through an ass load of trouble to make this fake origin story about him and they cant even take the risk of letting his real childhood story come to light and if they do kill him (i crack myself up sometimes) then they can just say hes mia on a covert op he was running since thats what hes been doing since the end of halo 4, halsey is in some shit mostly from things i cant recall right now but i know shes already fallen from grace with oni and to top it off im pretty sure she defected to the covenant so i think osman has a reason to go after on top of all the personal ones

I know I'm getting a bit off topic here, but do you really think Halsey truly defected? I mean, I think she's got an agenda but to turn on humanity?

Right, I have a theory but we'll obviously have to wait and see. My theory is she will eventually sabotage Jul Mdama and Storm Covenant once she's made a point to Orsin (Margarets replacement?), Palmer, and the rest of the ONI brass. Also, I could totally see her being convinced by Lord Hood that she needs to stop the B.S. As far as I remember, ONI is keeping Hood out of the loop as far as the whole operation of keeping the Shengeli split between the Mdama supporters and the Arbiter supporters.
