Hi all, id like to ask you a question...

Hi everyone I hope you're all well, I'd like to ask you all, new and old members a question....what does the D.o.D mean to you? What in your eyes is it all about and what does it stand for in your opinion? :-) When this started out back last July as a small idea in a thread that became this massive gathering of gaming fathers to me it stood for brotherhood, family, friendship, comradery. Over the past few months some of the things I've seen people do for eachother is unparallelled to any other group I've ever been in. I've said this a thousand times before and will say it a thousand times to come but thank you to you all that have come together to join together as gaming dads and share experiences and some relaxed gaming with eachother you are amazing and have not only really changed my outlook on gaming going forward but I'm sure your own and other gaming fathers thoughts on gaming aswell. So what does D.o.D mean to you? As always till we meet in the stars guardians... Kp out

  • I had no idea what I was getting myself into that September afternoon when I picked up Destiny; only one friend played and our times were off. I somehow managed to grind my way to 26 and max out both subclasses on my hunter and found my way to DoD, a group I had already been interested in prior to the games launch. Once here I found a clan and thought I had plugged myself in. Turns out it was the beginning. My first raid team was put together in October, I had answered a thread in our Foxtrot forum as to why I hadn't been in the VoG. We met on a Tuesday exchanged brief greetings and dove into the madness that was the Vault. We died. A lot. We laughed even more. It took us several weeks to get that first clear but we eventually pulled it off and the feeling of elation was real and we were also really hooked. This game had begun it's grip on us and we were merely along for the ride. I remember wanting more of a challenge from the VoG and my group encouraged me to find a HM raid to try it out; I returned here to the main DoD page here at b.net and found someone who has turned into a good friend and a regular raid buddy. Coincidentally our friendship has helped grow our alliance of players on LINE and cultivate more space for DoD. This is a community, a place where I have made real and lasting friendships with men I'm proud to call my friend and raid partner. We share our ups and downs, shoot the breeze, and at the end of the day we try to have fun. My friends have given me the privilege of raiding, nightfalls, weeklies, and pvp events with their kids. I've helped guys through their first raid clears and their first HM clears, all because I enjoy this game and the company I get to share while I'm playing.
