Why 31+ for VOG?
Just as it says why? Do people not remember beating this thing with 29s?
Do people not understand a 30 does the same damage as a 32? In VOG
And before you look, i have 3 32s i just laugh at people not letting 30s or even 29s into vog hard....

5 RepliesNo offense, but it was a lot harder to reach level 30 back when the VoG first released than it is now. If you're not at least level 30, you should at least try VoG on normal and learn how to run the raid. Plus you will get better weapons on normal than what the Vanguard will sell anyway. I don't mind level 29's, but I've noticed those are the first ones to die because they don't know what they're doing in the first place.

Got in an argument with a 32 about your weapons damage topic. He didn't agree that even though I was 31 with max raid weapons would still do same damage as him. It was so ridiculous. Made me laugh

3 RepliesNowadays a Lvl 30 is, generally speaking, an inexperienced noob. With that amount of hours, they do not have adequate weapons.

To be fair it only takes two weeks of moderate play, a month if you don't play that much, to hit 31 now that the vanguard sells gear that's higher leveled than vog equips... If someone hasn't been playing a decent amount of time to get used to the mechanics I wouldn't run a raid with them (this applies to all games, not just destiny - if someone hasn't put in the time on the easier stuff, why carry them through the harder parts of the game?) But hey, that's just me, I've only raided with friends on destiny so far because most the time I play online games in game chat it's always either English chavs trying to take the piss out me for being Scottish, Americans trying to imitate my scottish accent and claiming they're 1/116th Scottish or some bs or it's the standard squeaker squad.

i get invites from groups of level 20 somethings when im at the tower. i send them messages about if it takes longer than 5 minutes for their group to form the spire they cant handle the raid. then i get messaged back about how im a meanie. knew it was a group of little kids begging anyone over 30 to carry them through. if the raids weren't still bugged i might be more willing to help out randoms.

Saw an lfg post. "Vog atheon cp, lf 5 more. Must be 32 and have maxed gjallahorn." I joined out of curiosity. Kid was 29 with blue guns. Definitely a squeaker and annoying as all hell. I left asap. I hate these posts, because this is all you'll find on a lfg site sometimes. And Idk about you but every time I join one of these so called 32 only. The fireteam leader is always under leveled and has shit for guns. So basically if you see one of these. Join. Grab the other 32s and then leave and make your own game. Trust me it works. It's a good way to get solid hard crota groups lol.

I ran it with a group of all 32s on my 30 Titan - somehow my Titan was the only one that had weapons of light though :/ Anyway I covered about half the Templar oracles on my own, out killed everyone with Word of Crota, took down all the portal oracles with SGA, provided weapons of light against atheon, and plenty of orbs with gift of the void, not that they were necessary. Just play your best - higher level doesn't equal better player.

I like those when I feel like running relic. I just slap on my 32 gear and everyone one is like "oh shit we got a 32, we can make it". Only get mad at conflux cp cause I usually have to right side by myself. Either no one supports me, or I get the low level guy that dies before we get to the last set

Level 30 is all you need. 32 only provides a miniscule amount of damage reduction that you'll hardly notice any difference. It does not provide a damage increase. I've been around since Day 1 and have plenty of experience. My fireteam and I go in with full VoG gear. There is no need to have a full fireteam of 32s for VoG hard mode. Anyone else claiming 31+ shows more experience is only kidding themselves. You don't have to bring just anyone into your raids, but I've played with plenty of new players who just hit 30 that have shown more "skill", understanding and willingness to learn than most 32 veterans who claim to be god players. I will say, however, that not having any Oracle Disruptor weapons is definitely going to be a damper at certain points, especially during Atheon (exceptions: Hunters Golden Gun, fusion rifles and sometimes shotguns). Likewise, with as easy as it is to his 31 or even 32, there are plenty of players who think "OMG I am going to rock that VOG hard mode for my first time and wreck it!" No, stop. Unless you've at least tackled normal, don't burden another fireteam of players who know what they're doing with that attitude. Don't be afraid to ask questions and don't be afraid to say, "Yeah, I don't know what this fight is about. What's the strategy here?" If you're constantly getting kicked because of this, it's not your fault and don't let that lead you to believe that all players are like that. Another alternative to this is joining a clan. New players are always welcome in my VoG raids. Everyone has to start somewhere and we have no problem building that bridge to cross that gap.
