CRUCIBLE CONFERENCE

Welcome to the conference! Im asking all Crucible veterans and anyone with pvp experience to please give a tip or some advice. It can be something of common knowledge or something often missed. All tips are appreciated. Please post tips on map strategy, weapon loadouts you find helpful, or even crucible etiquette. (Im not claiming to be a crucible vet but I have alot of fps experience) If you would be so kind guardians, tell us of one of your greatest triumphs in the crucible so that we may learn by example. What are your favorite/hated maps?

  • There's so much to talk about when it comes to strategy I couldn't sum it up in a few words. I recently started a YouTube channel though and I've been making videos about maps and breaking them down (strategies, choke points, etc) my most recent one is about how to build and how to get the most out of your stats. If you get a chance check it out and let me know what you think or if any of it was helpful.

    • The best advice I can give you is that it's totally unbalanced and eventually it becomes not even fun to play anymore because of it

      • Against all odds with field scout. In control make sure the other team as A on fire base Delphi then sit in front of the window. They will continuously jump through and give you easy kills

      • USE GAUNTLETS THAT GIVE RELOAD SPEED TO THE PRIMARY YOU ARE USING! I have gauntlets for each primary, and I find it helps immensely for tight spots where I need to reload and don't have a weapon better suited for the situation to switch to. Take your time in engagements. Unless you are using a shotgun and running into people then slide-shoot-meleeing them, don't sprint into engagements, otherwise you will be most likely subject to the technique previously mentioned. Instead, stop sprinting when your radar blips, set up for the fight, and be ready to get the drop on them. This will allow you to nine times out of ten come out on top.

Only tea bag a dead enemy when none of their teammates are around to get revenge. On a serious note though in clash always run the opposite side your teams going - can really help get those first strike medals. Generally speaking use your supers after the heavy ammo has been used, don't wanna blade dance into a rocket fest! Avoid bunching up with teammates when you know it's likely there are supers about. Reload asap, gonna need a full clip always. Don't always use a shotgun.

        • If the opponent has more than half their health left, and is out of your line of sight. Do not chase. There will always be a next time.

        • Each character is good at different things. When I'm playing PVP I always use my warlock with self res (hate on me that's ok). Red Death is an awesome primary along with thorn or Hawkmoon. My choice for secondary weapon would be my LDR (high rate of fire). And for heavy I use Hunger of Crota. Also find what game type fits you. I don't like control so I run clash most times unless the fireteam wants something else. Give everything a chance until it fits you man. If you're on PS4 you can add me if you'd like. RJ1177. My stats are decent

        • Learn what play style fits YOU best. This will present you with the most opportunities to succeed. I find that if I'm struggling it's because I'm not playing to my strengths.

A useful tactic im sure some guardians know and some dont is when crouching your radar signature will "stagger" making your position hard to pin down. Obviously you dont want to do this all the time but it is effective in confusing the opposition. I myself have fallen prey to this technique...quick glance at the radar shows nothing, then I have an A** full of shotgun spray!

          • If you're on twilight gap control and you see me capping C, then by all means continue to blindly run straight at me through either of the 2 choke points and repeat this process over and over every time I kill you. Also in this same place please continue to NOT perform any sort of flanking maneuver from the open area with the small stairs that provide adequate cover/maneuverability.

lets see: Here are my two tips for newcomers and veterans alike out of my many tips. 1) Learn to adapt to the match; everyone plays a little differently so you cant just use the same weapons every match, unless you actually can't... in that case play pve and get better with your weapons so you can use them in pvp. 2) If you see heavy ammo spawned and no one is on your radar, wait like 10 seconds for your team or until a red bar plops onto your radar. The more heavy ammo your team has the greater the chance to pull ahead of the enemy, so if you pull it right away with no one around you are just being a terrible teammate.

                  • Always ALWAYS look at your radar. And never get to close to an enemy, unless you're trying to super, even still be cautious.

                      • Know the heavy ammo spawns on all maps as well as the timers . E.g , in control (I B) heavy ammo inbound at 9:10,spawns at 9:00 and then every 3 minutes after roughly. Make your way to the general area when its inbound. Use Truth or Thunderlord if you can. If using Thunderlord make sure you use field scout , wait a few moments untill you hear the eneny rockets explode then you can basically use your Thunderlord as an assault rifle using small bursts to rack up kill streaks of ten or more.

                                • Be patient, watch your radar, pick your battles, play at your weapon's effective range, and learn the map. Laugh and learn from your deaths. Cheer and get pumped from your victories. Each kill and death can make you a stronger player. That's what it truly means to Enter the Crucible!
