PSA: If you use The Last Word, you're cheating.
The Last Word is one of the most powerful weapons you can encounter in the Crucible. So powerful, it can kill you in less than a second (That's like a heavy weapon killtime). Often times, it doesn't matter if you get the first shot off; The Last Word user can just turn the battle the around in the blink of an eye without any real effort.
I've been told by multiple users that the eponymous perk the weapon has is actually bugged. The extra precision damage applies not only to hip firing, but aiming down the sights as well. That means that people who use this weapon are exploiting a glitch in the game to their advantage, which means they're cheating.
Look it up. Last time I checked the Xbox Live terms of service, exploiting unintended elements in a game to your advantage constitutes cheating. I'm sure PSN has similar terms. Bungie is no stranger to banning people for this sort of thing; Achronos himself stated back in the Halo 2 days that the use of the button glitches in that game in Matchmaking was cheating and a bannable offense.
I'm sure some of you (probably the people who use the gun) will start calling me names, saying that I suck or am a sore loser, yadda yadda yadda. But it doesn't really matter; the terms are clear. If you use the Last Word in Crucible in that manner, [i]you are technically cheating.[/i] There's no if's, and's, or but's about it. You are cheating.

1 ReplyI think OP is just mad because someone kept killing him/her with it. Get over yourself, they'd probably kill you without that "exploit" anyway, and most people probably don't even realize it. I wouldn't because I don't particularly pay attention to how much damage my weapons do.

And the glitch is on the one gun that's made to be hip fired ? And if I hip fire with the gun and use it as intended , I'm breaking the game ? Welp , infallible logic right there . I'm going to go burn my kitchen table because ikea gave me an extra chair on accident .

Or you can just hip fire most of the time instead, and keep your mobility, speed, radar, and skip a step in the firing process altogether.

I don't even have The Last Word (it's only in the Grimoire because someone was giving out codes), and you need to simply GET. BETTER. I don't care how good you are. If you're complaining, get better at the -blam!-ing game.

Bungie is cheating, not us. We didn't have anything to do with the glitch. It's there fault it's there. I'm not, not going to use a gun because someone said it was cheating. I didn't do anything to that gun except get it, then upgrade.

In fact, each weapon probably has a secret glitch, so use of all weapons is cheating and warrants a ban from Xbox Live services. I don't have The Last Word, and I never minded getting killed by it until now. This thread has opened my eyes to all cheaters using all weapons.
