I have been thinking about this whole notion of xurning vs earning and here is what I have come up with. I understand how hard it used to be to grind for things. I've played since alpha on ps4 and then the retail game on ps4 about two weeks after release, took a hiatus and picked the game up in November on Xbox one. I haven't been part of the grind the whole time and I readily admit I am nothing but a filthy casual.... But correct me if I'm wrong... Has xur been around since launch? Xur isn't a creation of The Dark Below and wasn't a Christmas gift to all of the Christmas noobs. So everyone who bought Suros the first time around broke the game? Or whatever extremely rare weapons that have been sold since week one? I also feel that purchasing a weapon through xur using coins that you have earned for the work you've done is equivalent to purchasing an item in real life at a store with real coin that you have earned through hard work. Saying that you earned your exotics through RNG drops by running around in a virtual game world is no different than saying you earned your Xbox one or PS4 by running around wal mart and hoping one randomly jumped into your shopping cart, at now additional cost to you. You didn't pay for it, so you didn't have to use the money you earned through work. One could argue using this logic that a xurned weapon is earned more so than one that is not. RNG drops are more closely related to receiving government welfare. So who has earned what? Basically it's a game and nobody earns anything. You can dedicate 1000s of hours and not get that premium weapon of your choice while someone else can play for a few hundred hours and get that item you have listed for since day one. And they may have done very little or played extremely poorly to get it. If you really have to get so emotionally charged over a trivial game, especially one that relies almost entirely on randomness, then you really ought to seek some professional help. There are more important things in the world to worry about, and if this bugs you this much, I can only imagine how you will react when you are confronted with real problems.
