Parents who are "conscientious objectors" to childhood vaccination will have their childcare and family tax payments stopped from 1 January next year as the federal government attempts to crack down on the anti-vaccination movement.

This is nice. First thing this Government has done that I've agreed with. Anyone who chooses not to vaccinate is endangering their children and while they might not care about that now, maybe they will once they start losing state benefits.

Good. Now they need to work on game rating.

Edited by Brob: 4/13/2015 4:09:32 AMPeople, if you aren't vaccinating your children, they can catch a disease that they didn't get a vaccine for and that disease can mutate into another strain of the disease in their body. They can then spread that new strain to people vaccinated against that disease except their Immune System does not have the antibodies for that new specific strain at their disposal. By not vaccinating your children, you are endangering not only your children, but other people as well. Simple logic people. I agree with what Australia is doing.

Edited by Caesar: 4/14/2015 6:42:58 PMWrong. Unsettled science aside this is far too intrusive, the government should not be taking away tax credits from parents who chose an alternative lifestyle. The Aztecs didn't have any of the diseases we get, why? They cleaned themselves and high cleanliness standards, it's not proven vaccines actually help, as well as the government should not discriminate against a group who is not proactively harming anyone. Edit: my point isn't let's live like Aztecs and have a society like them it was just showing a successful alternative lifestyle. My main point is that the government is overstepping their boundaries with a move like this.

I guess Tony Abbott's head isn't completely up his own àss

While I don't disagree with the idea of curbing the anti-vaccine movement, I do have a problem with the government trying to strong arm people into doing what they want.

Edited by Smarkdow: 4/14/2015 7:36:13 PMWhat's next? Tax penalties for people who don't implant themselves with surveill...err safety chips?

How idiotic. My parents never vaccinated me, and I've never once been sick in my life. Pro-vaccers are just over reacting, as usual.
-
Yasss. Stop these fgts for allowing diseases to spread. Many diseases could have been eradicated of the face of the earth.... But idiots find fake enquirer articles that say they are bad and causes autism (it doesn't you dense mther fker. If you had some data studies on the ratio of occurrence compared to other diseases, you can see mathematically why It doesn't I used to save paper on it but don't have it anymore T-T

Good.

Actually mass vaccination isn't an individual protection. It's meant to prevent a spread of disease and is no guarantee that you won't get ill. Australia is a socialist country, the people that live there are subjects not citizens. If their government actually acknowledge individual liberty they would simply allow natural consequences instead of trying to enforce their policy. I don't agree with anti vaccination activists but I also don't agree with nationalized oppression and the sheep that allow it to flourish. Unfortunately the States are now filled with so many sheep the we too are headed in that direction.

Edited by DicksOüt: 4/14/2015 12:15:13 PMFor once australia does something right EDIT: Now just fix all the game censorship and we will be all good

Good stuff

I agree. Even if a vaccine caused some sort of disease like twice, think about the billions of times that it hasn't.
not saying it actually has,but that's what some people believe
Compulsory drugs, charming. If I was Australian I would just rob my government to take what I was owed.
