Hi, thought I'd be able to help with this, sorry to necro bump. The Battle of Twilight Gap was led by Lord Saladin, a forum poster for whatever the reason thought it would be a good idea to claim the false fact that hunters weren't in the Battle. If you truly search the lore there are actually more references to hunters being there than warlocks, but personal grievances aside, the Battle was just out side the city perimeter. Led by the House of Devils the Fallen under a unified lead attacked our city. It seems that this was also known as the Battle of Six Fronts, the six fronts being the six fallen houses. Devils, Exile, Winter, Wolf, King, and a house that either was destroyed, went into hiding, or simply has yet to be seen. So far I have found these "elite" groups to exist in Cabal and Vex, so it makes sense that they exist within Fallen and Hive as well. On our side the Battle was primarily held by four titan orders, sadly I don't know the names, but also had help from hunters and warlocks. When the Battle was finished Gjallarhorn was forged in the memory and armour of those we lost. Hope that helps. :)
