I just finished killing the Undead Chariot, and one of the two witches ended up dropping me a Lizard Staff. I was pretty hyped to find a new staff since I'm a Sorcerer. I tried looking up some info on it and apparently it's a really rare drop?
What's the best stat build for this weapon? I read it scales off of INT and Faith (something about scaling on whichever is the lowest?)

Hex builds require 30/30 for int/faith. I'm not a magic user, but I'd assume this is a hexing staff.

You would be correct in that assumption. This is a hexing staff that specializes in dark fog, it will usually poison someone in one cast.

Is it worth using for Sorcery over the staff I started out with? I haven't really tried any other spells like Hexs / Miracles / Pyromancy. Only thing I've been using is Sorcery lol.

I'm not sure, there are some other staffs for pure sorcery builds you will find at some point. If that staff requires twinkling titanite to upgrade I would just hold out till you find something else.

Oh ok nice, then I guess you're good for a while then. There is a really nice staff you fins later, but it requires 50 int to use it. Therefore it might not fit in your build.

Edited by Mr Deep: 4/15/2015 4:38:30 AMMy INT is currently at 40, I plan on pushing it to 60. I'm not sure what I should do with my Faith though, it's sitting at 10~15ish. Since this staff says it scales depending on the lower of the two (INT and Faith), I'm trying to figure out what would be an appropriate level for Faith. Probably will do what George Foman suggested and up it to 30.

Yeah that would be good for now, once you get the other staff that's better for pure sorcery you could respect your character since you won't need the faith that high anymore.

I just noticed I was confused when looking at the staffs description last night. I was confusing the Darkness Scaling (Hex) for Sorcery. I'll stick to leveling purely INT now, since it reaches an S Rank in Sorcery at some point.

Pilgrims spontoon (spear) can be pretty handy for a sorcerer build in combination with a 100% physical damage negating shield. The staff of wisdom is the highest intelligence rating I believe though. There's also a sword called the blue flame that can be used to cast spells and be used as a sword.
