Bill nye the science guy wants us to go to Mars for Science!

BILL NYE: Mars is horribly inhospitable - here's why we should send humans anyway http://www.businessinsider.com/bill-nye-why-send-humans-to-mars-2015-4?utm_source=mobilesrepublic&utm_medium=referral&utm_term=mobilesrepublic [quote] "In light of this conversation, why do we want to go there?" Nye said we should go to Mars because it's the next logical place to explore, and when you start exploring, two things happen: You'll make discoveries and you'll have an adventure. If humans go to Mars then scientists estimate we could make discoveries 10,000 times faster than the best robot spacecraft explorers we have now, Nye said. And even if robots become so advanced that they can compete with a human explorer, that wouldn't change anything, Nye said. We'd still want to explore ourselves. Lust for adventure and the tantalizing idea that we could discover something new would still exist. Going to Mars for exploration is one thing though, Nye said. Setting up a colony there is something entirely different. "I would like to go to Mars but I want to come back," Nye said. "And I don't want to go to Mars to live. I don't think that is all the way thought through, in my opinion."[quote] Don't make me get black science guy to go all science in you.

  • I think Bill Nye is an awesome guy. I really do. I would love us to go to Mars. Catch is, it costs a LOT of money, snd what can we find that can help solve the mountain of problems here on Earth that we could be using said money for?
