You can only wear one piece of clothing for the whole day....

If you want a more serious answer probably socks/shoes.
Reasoning for that is I'm screwed either way, I can't pick shirt or pants because I would still leave something out.
So why not make walking more comfortable instead?

The poncho thing works you just have to get the right poncho I have this one... Sleeves not open on the sides comes down to a bit below the knee in the front and a bit further in the back its meant to have a backpack.
