Only down fall I see with it is if they limit it once a week like every thing else

And once a week is exactly how it's gonna be , Bungie will throw every spanner they've got into the works just to slow down player progression , they've got form for that .

Edited by DrPhilaBole: 4/19/2015 3:08:42 PMIf it is a "once per character, per week" and it is a horde mode....Bungie will be shooting themselves in the foot with a sawed off 10 gauge .

It will probably be something like..... At wave 10 you get a piece of armor At 15 you get a gun But then you die. When you get to wave 10 and 15 again you won't get armor, but then you get to 20 and get another armor piece. So on and so forth until you hit the max wave limit in a play through, like 50 or something. Then you will get no more armor when you play it for the rest of the week.

I think I remember Bungie stating that the Arena focused on replayability among other things when they revealed it. Maybe that's a hint that it's more than 1 per week?

Then expect Crucible/ROC strike type reward screens......and a troy ton of Smoggy Pluto threads.

If it was a wave based survival mode which increases in difficulty, it could be that you can only receive loot for a wave once per week, meaning you have a possible infinite amount of loot, but if you wipe or stop, you have to start fresh and won't receive loot for any hordes you have already defeated. With the rewards having an increased chance of better loot the further you get. This would be perfect in my eyes, but only on the condition they are very good at limiting the cheese, otherwise one invincible spot from which you can kill everything becomes game breaking.

Sure we don't know the specifics but if it is some sort of horde mode I can see this upsetting a lot of people if it's a once a week activity.
