upgrade a set of blues to max light levels then keep grinding, striking and vanguarding and youll eventually get legendary purple gear - upgrade these and they will push your level higher - you can also purchase legendaries from the vanguard with the right number of marks - you must be lvl 2 vanguard though... if you collect coins - buy exotics - they will help the biggest advice i can give is...
