Hi everyone I hope you're all well,
I'd like to ask you all, new and old members a question....what does the D.o.D mean to you? What in your eyes is it all about and what does it stand for in your opinion? :-)
When this started out back last July as a small idea in a thread that became this massive gathering of gaming fathers to me it stood for brotherhood, family, friendship, comradery. Over the past few months some of the things I've seen people do for eachother is unparallelled to any other group I've ever been in.
I've said this a thousand times before and will say it a thousand times to come but thank you to you all that have come together to join together as gaming dads and share experiences and some relaxed gaming with eachother you are amazing and have not only really changed my outlook on gaming going forward but I'm sure your own and other gaming fathers thoughts on gaming aswell.
So what does D.o.D mean to you?
As always till we meet in the stars guardians...

I'm an older guy....well in age not in spirit... (49) and a father to two young ones... (waited for the right woman) I have always been a casual gamer....and like to play the same way. Now don't get me wrong when I say casual because I don't like to lose so I try hard to always complete a quest, but it usual takes me longer because I'm more laid back. This clashes with most folks playing style so I never really play allot of Online.....I hate to let a team down due to my style. My first positive "Clan" based experience happened with Chromehounds and I met a great group of guys who felt the best thing about playing the game was to have fun. We became close friends online and IRL. Even to this day we hang out on the weekends having cookouts and reliving our past glories. Fast forward to Destiny....I loved the idea of the game and was worried an old fart like me would have a hard time fitting in with a younger crowd......I almost didn't buy it but read an article about the DoD and thought man .....this is just what I need....I'm glad I got the game and joined this group. In so many ways I have been helped in the game and with answers to all those questions dads have on solving the issues that come from raising children. Along the way I found some more people to add to my list of family.....folks that I would drop what I was doing to be there for them. The DoD represents all that I believe in, Friendship, Compassion, and Honor.....I Love this game and this group. Sorry for the novel. :) See you star side, Pappy
