I don't know if this is the right place to post this, but I was just wondering if anyone can clarify the story of "Thorn" and "The last word" I'm confused on what actually happened, in the finally showdown

when i read it the tale spoke of the user of the last word hunting the user of thorn and it being a stalemate both users died and the guns were passed on

I'm actually studying parts of the Vex lore right now, but Sir Wallen - Lore Seeker on YouTube has several videos on the guns :)
