Best order to complete the DLC areas? Having fun exploring all three. I have to admit though, they are a rough time for a Sorcerer. Is 160 a decent level to do them all? I feel like I should be doing this no problem, but a few of the enemies are a pain in the ass. For example, those white phantom dual wielding samurai looking enemies.

  • The phantoms aren't too bad. You just destroy the body and they become solid and take more damage. In the room with the spikes on the floor, just climb up the ladder and they cant get you. when you go into the room with all their bodies, lure them out and bait them to fall off. Its pretty easy

Yeah, someone told me about their bodies :P they were simple after that. I finished all 3 DLCs yesterday. Soloed every single DLC Boss; no NPCs used either, except on the Trio Squad, which I could've soloed but it was the last boss I needed to complete the Sunken King DLC and I wanted out of that area terribly lol so I said -blam!- it and used 2 NPCs. I'm farming Loyce Souls now for the Ivory King Armor Set and backtracking to make sure I didn't miss anything before I head into NG+. Loved everything about Dark Souls II! Happy I decided to solo everything my first play through.

  • I think it's best to complete them in order of release (Sunken king, old iron king, ivory king) That's also the order I would put them in for most to least difficult. Sunken king is a pain for mages, old iron is the same but less so, and ivory king is pretty easy In general. Sunken king also has a pretty snazzy miracle called denial which allows you to survive an otherwise fatal blow, giving you a chance at life.

  • With regards to the phantoms - you have to destroy their bodies and they will become normal again (as in not ethereal). You know the first two you see in the room with the 6 or so chests and the Catarina knight helm? When you destroy the 2 bodies on the tables those phantoms gain their bodies back and are easy to kill. You have to just kinda avoid the other ones until you get to a large room later on where the other bodies are located. I'm not great at describing things so hope that helps. As far as the order goes - I think the intended order (based off release date) is: 1) behind the black gulch primal bonfire 2) behind the iron keep primal bonfire 3) the other one (I forgot where it is, sorry lol) And as far as level you should be fine around 160. I did the first at 170ish, I'm on the second right now at 180ish, and I'll prob be about 185 by the last one. I'm a strength/dex/faith build (40/30/35) and am finding them to be really easy. If you want, you can always use a soul vessel and switch to that type of build for the DLCs if you're having trouble. If you do, I would recommend leveling up the club (the small one) to +10 as it's pretty fast and light and you can get it from the hag, also the greatsword +10 (I put fire on mine and it has 280 +81 physical, and 280 +34 fire so that's over 600 attack rating), and the red iron twinblade +10 (use yellow pine resin on it before boss fights and it's a MONSTER). You should have all 3 of those unless you got rid of them. All 3 are great mob killers, but the twinblade is the best boss killer out of those 3 IMO. You'll also want the Dragonrider bow for a build like that as that thing is uber strong (I have it +5 and the damage ranges from about 350 on some enemies to over 600 on others with fire arrows). I would also recommend the watchdragon parma shield +10 as its really lightweight and has great protection from just about everything. Sorcery is fun, but it can get a little hairy when there's multiple enemies and that's pretty much what the DLCs are - ambushes by multiple enemies that do a lot of damage. If you don't want to switch to strength, consider hexes and use the chime of want as that thing requires 40 intelligence but it is also the best chime as far as I know. Hope that helps! Any more questions, feel free to ask. I don't consider myself to be a great DS player, but I know how to handle myself and can get through PvE just fine. PvP is a whole other story though.

  • Thank you for that very well written reply. I'm sure attacking those corpses will make things a whole easier, and I completely forgot about Soul Vessels! I guess now is the time to try a STR build. I saved the Red TwinBlade but unfortunately I didn't choose that bow. I'll try to find to find something else to substitute. And this is a completely different question, but any tips for being summoned for Co Op? I'm wearing the Name Engraving Ring plus using the small soap sign, and I'm trying to be summoned for boss fights so I can get that Miracle for 30 tokens. I've only been summoned once in the past two days that I've spent around 1 and a half hours waiting around with no luck.

  • Take off the name-engraved ring. All that does is makes it easier for people who both choose the same god to find each other. So for instance if you are playing with a friend but you're in an area that has a lot of summon signs, you both would put the ring on and choose the same god so that way you would only see someone with that god and nobody else would see your sign unless they just so happened to have chosen that same god too. So yea, just take the ring off and you'll get summoned a bunch more :)
