The line in Time's Vengeance: "Guardians make their own fate" has baffled me for so long. If there's anything after Atheon I believe it's due to one of these two things:
1) Do not damage Atheon while T'sV is active
This would mean people who are guarding the plates would need to lay in to him whilst the Oracle team are making their way through
2) Do not damage Atheon at all
This is something that's been in my mind for a while as well, as it seems everything is set up so Guardians rush through it but the last line of his Grimoire (after talking about his purpose) is odd: "This is all speculation".
Why add that line in at all if what was previously said either is correct or is wrong and something we'll find out in Destiny 2+? It just doesn't make sense either way.
If I had to pick one to be the most likely I'd say it's #2. I know he'll enrage eventually and Minotaurs will come out but it would be interesting to find out what actually happens if you keep going on with it.
And before anyone says about how the cheesers who pushed him off would've triggered one of these two things, I don't believe that would be the case because:
1) Grenades do damage and he dies
- failing #2
2) T'sV wouldn't have been activated and therefore we wouldn't have had the chance to decide on how we 'make our own fate'
- failing #1 & #2
If anyone is down for this on PS4 then let me know - we can do it on Normal.
