I followed the game's development and Bungie stated multiple times they were fighting against a subscription payment model. They also stated the game will grow via dlc and expansions. It's either pay a subscription or buy additional content. That being said, I do disagree with many of Bungie's decisions.

I don't mind a subscription for a game of substantial content and worth. I also wouldn't mind paying for additional content. But my problem comes in when the price is overinflated. Alot of dlc come at a set price, and the price is usually overpriced to match competitors because it's the norm. We're technically paying the price for a damn near whole other game while only getting the content of 1/4 of the game.
