  • DICE is trying to present the multiplayer as authentically as possible in relation to the movies. While I don't see this as bad, I can't say I'm not disappointed with what features we've lost to achieve this. It seems many of us were hoping for what was obvious: Battlefront III. Bots, Galaxtic Conquest, 3rd person, heroes, and the two eras we know from the films. Considering this game's release has been so long to come--and under a new developer--I can't say I'm surprised with what happened. The first two games were built on a different engine by a different developer who had much different resources than DICE does now. We have a new, powerful engine to run Battlefront on, and the technology to make in game models as accurate as possible. Additionally, being a different developer, DICE will obviously have different ideas. They went with a reboot, which is fair for how long it's been since Battlefront II. We could not hold DICE up to the expectation that everything would return--unfortunate, yes, but they had a different vision on what a next-gen Battlefront can be. The game looks beautiful and sounds amazing so far. Knowing DICE's opinion on putting bots in Battlefield again, I accepted a while ago they wouldn't return. With more capability to play online, this path seemed to make sense for them, rather than putting dumb A.I. in multiplayer. Kills a bit of the offline fun-factor, but oh well. The missions might be interesting. I AM surprised by what was brought back, including 3rd person and heroes. The 40-player doesn't bother me. After wanting to try 64-player Battlefield, I must say it wasn't as spectacular as I expected. A big count isn't always the best; it depends on the game. Plus, there is not as much chaos fighting bots compared to real players who know how to fire back. I'm sure Battlefront fits its new player count. Ground-to-space was hyped quite a bit and it is disappointing DICE didn't pull this from the scrapped Battlefront III. I can agree to an extent that there won't be much difference between flying in space or in atmosphere, but it was the immersion that made it great. I'm sad to see it gone, but I'm sure it'll pop up in DLC in some way. With the new movie coming emphasis is being pushed back on the original trilogy. While this focus is gonna make for a really nice game with great detail, I'm sad I can't play as a clone or battle droid anymore. The Clone Wars era was still amazing and fun; here's to hoping some DLC for it comes along. I'm gonna enjoy Battlefront for the game it was designed to be. It wasn't all that was expected, but it's gonna be the most immersive thing ever.
