Investments often do require additional investments to be made, just do some reading on investment dilution. That occurs, for example, when you invest into a company for XYZ% but someone who pays the same or greater amount later reduces your % ownership of that investment. The only way to retain your position is to invest more. Regarding Destiny - a lot of people have been playing this game either religiously or casually for 6+ months now. If you're not willing to pay more for that experience then so be it but don't complain that there is the option to do. Many people wish to extend their Destiny experience and these expansions are the only way to do so. Some games can be flipped around and completed in a weekend and still cost $60, Destiny has kept some people engaged for half a year. No-one HAS to buy the DLC, also please note the raising the price of the game is an option and it's something Destiny did. You could buy various versions that bundled the season pass in with it effectively meaning you only pay once for future DLC. That option was available for those who could afford it. Anyone of us can at any point make the decision that they've got as much value out of Destiny as they can or they're willing to get and move on. So let's not talk like we're trapped with no way out.

  • Nowhere in my post did I say gamers felt trapped. Also the investment part was a small part(you also danced around the fact that ur initial investment is returned equally or greater when additional investments are made/required. Yeah people could've bought the season pass with their preorders, but that is not the same thing as buying the complete product... this game has been overhyped and and overpriced period. Just because people play it alot, doesn't mean it's worth the price. That's the equivalent of saying if I play with a yo-yo for 6 months then I should pay an absurd amount for a basic yo-yo. Time played =/= equal value. Content = Value.

  • There will always be people that think a product is not worth its value, conversely there will also be people that think a product is worth its value. It is only your opinion, and maybe others as well, that this game isn't worth the value.

  • Investments also can collapse and never go anywhere, it's the risk you take. Value is never guaranteed. This game was priced the same as every other game out there. Over-hyped is a subjective term, depends on whether you're happy with the experience you've been getting or not. Content does not in any way equal value. What if the content is crap but there's a lot of it? Is that value? Not at all. Value means something different to everyone. Destiny's social experience has given me more value than I could have expected, for example.

  • Lol destiny's social experience? Wtf are you smoking. U must be an employee of sorts incognito saying some shit like that lmao. I'm done. No point in debating with a person with a mentality like that. You're still grabbing on to the investment part. Most were promised more shit then they received, hence a loss on their investments hence the outrage and disappointment. Regardless of the investment shit, this game is extremely lacking for a game that costs 80$. Point blank period. Nothing left to say. You like paying for 80$ for a tiny social experience lol go ahead but don't act like there's no reason to be upset. This is a game and the gaming community os highly competitive. The consumers have a right to be pissed and voice their dissatisfaction when they're so many options available. Nobody is being forced, but their is a certain level of influence/manipulation/ reputation abuse going on. I'm Done debating with u about that though.

  • Ah I see, resort to trash talking now because I've haven't succumbed to your indoctrination. How big of you. However I shall explain myself further. Social experience as in friends, fireteams, raid teams, clans - regular people you align with and share the experience with. That has been a very rewarding experience in Destiny and continues to be. That is MY experience and nothing YOU say will change that ever EVER, point blank period. I have no reason to be upset, I've gotten MY money out of Destiny many times over. I bought the game because I enjoyed the beta and wanted to experience the full game. I didn't expect any particular list of things from Destiny, I never follow the hype train - it just leads to bad places. Consumers, yes it's their right to voice their opinion. There are other options out there too so 6 months later if someone is still desperate to get value out of Destiny or believe that they've been robbed then they're in for some very hard times once real life begins (if it ever does).
