I don't get why Christians are against gay marriage.
I mean, it's not like God's going to let them into Heaven.

I'm pretty sure that I remember reading that most recent surveys have shown the majority of Christians aren't opposed to gay marriage.

1 ReplyThe problem isn't with Christians themselves, because religeon is more about finding a group and sense of identity than anything else. If people hate gays, that doesn't make them Christian, it makes them a douchebag. Dicks will be dicks nomatter what the bible says

I'm a Christian but I'm not strict about it and I actually strongly support gay/lesbian marriage. The way I look at it nobody should judge anyone for who they want to love or what makes them happiest. Love is a beautiful thing in any form.

Being a Christian, I can tell you that gay marriage is not good according to the bible. I for one don't believe it is right, but I'm not going to protest and hold judgement if you are gay. However, some Christians would not agree. Don't let bigots like them influence how you want to live your life

6 RepliesI am not very fond of Christianity and I have absolutely no problem with gays... But, if their holy book says do not do this, then it goes against their own gods words and so they are not Christian. It's like saying I'm vegetarian apart from chicken.

5 RepliesBasically because marriage is a religious ceremony. In Christianity homosexuality is considered sinful so it's only natural that Christians would not want to marry gay people. Nobody is stopping gay people from starting their own branch of any religion and getting married in their own church.

4 RepliesIn the Bible, it states a few times that homosexuality is a sin. It doesn't say this directly, however. Many people say that the Bible doesn't say that [b]homosexuality[/b] itself is wrong, but the Bible makes mention of the sin of sexual immorality. In the Bible, sexual immorality pertains to any sexual act enacted on the body which is not in God's favor. This includes: sex before marriage, intercourse with animals, lust, and yes; relations between the same sex. This is one of the reasons Sodom and Gomorrah was destroyed; sexual immorality. In conclusion, Christians believes what's in the Bible (it's our right and our belief), so logically, we disapprove of homosexuality. [b]BUT[/b]! Many people stereotype Christians as people who hate gays, and want them to burn in hell. This is completely wrong. I have many friends who are homosexual; gay or lesbian, and they are some of the coolest people I know. Do I disapprove of their actions? Yes. Do I hate them and want them to die for it? No, no, no. I hope this brings into light why Christians disapprove of homosexuality. And please, like I said, I don't hate the people, I just have different beliefs and expectations concerning sexuality.

I've just read an argument. The one against the Bible was decently nice. Decently. And the one for the Bible did not consider even the possibility that the Bible is wrong, and while I get the Bible uses figurative speech, that coming from the second person who joined the argument, it's kinda hard to explain a talking donkey.
