I can destroy plants too, in my weak non-guardian/alien life form body. Also Goku(and most other characters in DBZ) have their powers regardless of what universe they are in.
Also in regards to Goku vs Superman it really does depend on which versions are fighting. Goku would stand a fighting chance against almost every version of Superman and would wipe the floor with some of the others. The main version I keep seeing pop up is Superman Prime, in which case yes, Superman does win.

Ya it does matter wich version but i personally think goku would not be able to take most of them. He could go toe to toe with them. My reasoning superman just had to fly up close to the sun but i can see you point. Even though it doesn't really matter lol

Goku doesn't stand a chance against any version, they analyzed this already [spoiler]by "they" I mean this group who analyzes hero/villain fights that'd never happen, just cant remember the name atm [/spoiler]
