The phantoms aren't too bad. You just destroy the body and they become solid and take more damage.
In the room with the spikes on the floor, just climb up the ladder and they cant get you. when you go into the room with all their bodies, lure them out and bait them to fall off. Its pretty easy

Soloed every single DLC Boss; no NPCs used either, except on the Trio Squad, which I could've soloed but it was the last boss I needed to complete the Sunken King DLC and I wanted out of that area terribly lol so I said -blam!- it and used 2 NPCs. I'm farming Loyce Souls now for the Ivory King Armor Set and backtracking to make sure I didn't miss anything before I head into NG+. Loved everything about Dark Souls II! Happy I decided to solo everything my first play through.
